    Great creations! Hope to see more. I have an entry level acmer p1 laser but I don't have the ability to create, how I wish I had your skills.

    I did the project exactly the same. I made the laser settings. But I couldn't get it to work at all. The laser is running, the motors run for a short time and then stop. I couldn't figure out what to do, I get this error”unexpected disconnect”

    Interesting, What is the power of the power supply you are using?

    What is the working area? Would a 400x400mm honeycomb bed fit in this engraver? Looks easy to modify if not. I really like this design with the two y axis motors.

    the engraving area is about 240x240 mm but you can easliy make it bigger by just using longer aliminium profiles and smooth rods.

    Very straightforward. Rather than goggles would it be better to have a cover for the engraver?

    Yes you are right having a cover is much better, and if it covers the entire engraver it can also help prevent any unpleasant smells.

    Will it work with 80 watt.laser moudle as well ? Need any change in code? Can you also send or explain the ardouino flash grbl ? And are there stepper limits in the project ?

  • @bitofelectronics

    Yes, you can use an 80 watt module, but you need to upgrade the power supply. You don't have to change anything in the code. You can flash GRBL via the LaserGRBL program (as shown in the video). You can copy my settings that I showed at 9:25. I'm assuming you are also asking about limit switches; I did not use any in my design, so you have to manually home the laser, but it's very easy.

    😮oh thank you. I'm thinking if we can add a wifi model to control the device remotely. I don't understand arduno very well

    @@vlvulong5200 Well I don't really know much about NodeMCU and other WiFi-related stuff, but I think we can use a Raspberry Pi (or a Banana Pi,Orange Pi, etc.). We can then connect the Arduino to this Raspberry Pi and remotely control it via VNC Viewer, as long as both devices are connected to the same WiFi network.

    how can the thickness of the working material be adjusted and would the laser module be able to cut whole the way through 3mm MDF wood? lastly, I like your work man keep going

  • @bitofelectronics

    @bitofelectronics

    First of all, thanks for the support :) . Regarding cutting 3mm MDF wood, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm unsure if the 4W power is sufficient(It says '4Watt' on the label, but since it's made in China, we can never be certain if it's truly 4Watt or something less powerful :D )Choosing a more powerful laser might be a better option. As for adjusting the thickness of the material, every time we change the material's thickness, we need to readjust the focus. The store on AliExpress, where I bought the laser, mentions in the description that 'the best cutting distance is 50mm' for this specific laser. (here is the link for the laser module: www.aliexpress.com/item/3256802965524796.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.5.18753d12r5OXyC&gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt )

    If you want to cut materials with different thicknesses, adjusting the focus can be time consuming. I recommend purchasing a fixed-focus laser and adjusting the laser module's height. However, in my design, the laser module's height is not adjustable, it's fixed. I've shared the CAD files, so you can either customize the part where the laser sits or find a different design online if you prefer to use fixed-focus laser modules.

    I only use the laser for engraving so I don't have any experience with cutting anything. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it can cut through the wood plate or not :(

    I haven't used LightBurn before, but you can flash GRBL with Arduino IDE, and then you can probably use the LightBurn software
