0:00 intro
1:10 What you'll need...
Felt around 3-5mm thick from a fabric store (amount depends on what size organizer you’re making)
Measuring tape
Scissors
Sewing Machine, thread
Tailor’s chalk
I based the dimensions of the larger one for the Louis Vuitton Speedy 30, it was around 11” length x 8” width x 4” height
2:30 Step 1:
Measure your handbag (you can also check the website for dimensions)
Width, length and height of bag to determine dimensions for organizer
2:36 Step 2:
Draw a pattern (I freestyled mine, but if you’re more comfortable with a pattern, use that)
Decide how many pockets, what sizes, etc.
Don’t forget to add the flaps! The flaps are where the sides will be sewn together.
3:07 Step 3:
Etch pattern into felt using tailor’s chalk (or something similar-something that will easily brush or wash off)
3:45 Step 4:
Cut out pattern. Cut pockets. If you want pockets to be flush against the organizer, cut the sides straight. If you want the pockets to pucker out a little (shown in video), cut the sides at a slight angle (like a trapezoid).
4:44 Step 5:
Sew pockets first. Sew bottom, then sides. If pockets are flat, just sew the pockets flush against the felt. If you want puckered pouches, pinch the felt in slightly to ensure the sides are sewn perpendicularly to the bottom stitch.
5:46 Step 6:
Once pockets / pouches are sewed on, bring corners together (using flaps) and sew straight.
6:05 Step 7:
Once all four corners are sewed, trim the flaps to be as flush with the stitching as possible. Cut all extra thread.
Voila!

Thank you thank you thank you for this video! What a great tutorial! I just hope I can find this stiff felt here in the US. I’m desperate for an organizer for my LV bucket bag and the custom one I ordered doesn’t fit at all.
Nice. Thanks. Will try it 😊
Excellent
Great video💕
Superb.....very well explained.....
Brilliant
i will do this instead of buying.
I recently purchased a pattern to make one and the instructions and pattern were so complicated, I can't figure it out. Yours makes so much sense. thank you!

This is just perfect!
Thx for the pattern...
Excellent tutorial! Maybe though you might have mentioned it would be a good idea to fold the pattern and tape the sides closed and test the fit because after all, the dimensions you're taking are from the outside of the bag!

This shouldn't be a problem because you are not adding any allowance to the measurements taken so after sewing, it will be smaller than the bag. Comment is old and you probably no longer care lol but this is for anyone wondering
Hey...Could you please post some ideas similarly for organizing the backpack as well...
Fab!

wow genius.
Great tutorial! I have a tote which sags so much that I need this organizer, but I also need it to be sturdy enough to hold up instead of sagging. Do I need to add some stiffer or I was thinking I have some of those embroidery plastic things that people use for embroidery, or maybe just some boning on the corners? Your expert reply, or any of the followers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again.
Nice
Thanks for the video, I think it's so much easier to have the flaps to sew, it cuts out a lot of steps.

Awesome thank you so much 👌👌👌👌👌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏😱😱😱
Great video and tried it but due to my thin felt, the walls did not stand up...need to use thick or "firm" felt.
You make it look so easy!!! Jealous of your creativity and talent. I will just buy mine for my sanity’s sake! 😂
👏👏👏👏
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hi there Aleeza, would you consider doing a beginner friendly version, including creating the pattern? Otherwise nicely done.
I’m impressed on how easy you made that! Thanks for the idea. Do you think that adding some outside pockets would work?
I do it the same way 😉

What is the thickness of the felt debris ?
Hi, what is the thickness of the felt you used?
This is a great video. I definitely want to make my own but can’t find a 3-5mm felt at the fabric store. Only seen 1.5mm on Amazon. Where you find your fabric? Can you share a link? Thanks
@stylishandliterate

Sorry - I don't have a link. I bought it from a fabric store... there wasn't even any real descriptions of the materials in store. I definitely went by feel.
Can you tell me which material you use for it ?
Hi... Can you please share the measurement for the bigger one? I love the tutorial it's simple, easy and to the point.... TIA

What material are you using
👌👌🙏🙏😱😱
Hi what are the measurement of the two side pieces?
What’s the Material please?^^
do you know what felt you used specifically? I see that yours is more thick and structured than the ones my craft store has. I'll have to purchase somewhere else, but I just don't know what to search for.

I went to a fabric store - the one I went to sells felt in rolls. Not 100% sure on the weight but it’s probably 3-5 mm thick.

Can I sew it my self by hand????

Of course! I’d recommend using a heavy duty thread and a higher gauge needle so you are able to make the stitches taut
Can you post the measurements of the small one please? A template would be nice.
@stylishandliterate
6 жыл бұрын
The measurements I used for the small one is: 7.5” length x 5” width x 4” height. This is not including the tabs as you’d cut those off anyway. You can see the measurements / template I used at around 2:40 in the video.

I don’t recall the thickness, but it is a stiffer felt. it’s a bit more robust than your typical craft felt. if i had to guess it would be about 2-3mm
