DIY Antenna Float for Lift Method Fishing
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
DIY Antenna Float for Lift Method Fishing. In this video I show you how to make the float I used in my last fishing video where I showed you how to use the Lift Method of Waggler Fishing to improve bite registration especially for shy biting species like Crucian Carp, F1s and Bream.
Here's the link to that video if you want to watch it before watching this video: • Lift Method Fishing - ...
This float can be referred to as an Antenna Float or sometimes even a Driftbeater, but if you build the additional antennas I show you at the end of the video, you will see how versatile this float can actually be.
Using these other antennas, the float can become a normal Waggler with either slim inserts, or you can use thicker inserts for longer distances or to combat drift. With shorter inserts, these floats can be used very effectively in the shallow margins for anglers who may not own a pole.

What a great video. Only just seen your videos they are all great bud. This is just what I needed. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on making these floats as I've always wanted to have a go at building some antenna floats. This has inspired me to give them a go. Nothing better than catching on a float you have made yourself. Thank you very much. Cheers den.

Great vid once more.
Hi Den, thanks again for another great video, I've had ago myself, not as good as yours but practice will make perfect. At the end you used n old jar as a shorting tube, well, I've found a glass vase about twice the length of your jar in The Range for £5:99, works a dream I even got the tell tale shot set up as well.

Thanks Tim. I probably should get a longer tube, but this one was lying around in one of the kitchen cupboards, so I stole it. The wife hasn't even noticed yet. lol.
Another great instructional video.

Hello, Den. Found your channel searching for float ideas and fascinated with your techniques. Am in the US and think that antenna float method would be excellent for redear (bream). Thanks for the great info! Subscribed.

It’s a killer little method, tho from UK and use it traditionally for tench (it’s original purpose) ive fished it all over the world for any round fish that feeds hard on the bottom. Awesome rig, even for spooky fish.
Wow...amazing very very nice i'm from indonesia
Hi Den, thanks for a very interesting and useful video. The long winter is now looking shorter and packed with lots to do.

They look great Den , I'm still struggling to colour inside the lines and not having the time so I'll buy the Drennan carp 7 but yours look class and it must be a real feeling of satisfaction when your catching fish on them, have you lost any when fishing that would burn my head out .👍

Thanks Neil. Yes, I do enjoy catching fish on tackle I have made myself.
Loved this.... will need to try this myself! So, have you found that the spray enamel paints are superior to other sprays or to dipping or paint brush?
@FishingwithDen
3 жыл бұрын
It's not really a question of the spray paint being superior for me Brian. It's just that it takes a lot less time to spray them than using a paintbrush. Both ways provide a good end result, but be careful of cheap spray cans. You can easily end up with drips.
thanks 👍..✋
Hi den, for this sort of fishing, I like to use handmade floats, which are about 6mm diameter and about 30-50cm in length when fishing paste. And i use it as a slider!

hi Den a great video and I'm going to be making some but was just wondering instead of paper on the antenna could you use shrink tubing?

Hi Robert. I'm not sure how that would work mate, but you could try something more rigid.
Great video Den, thanks. Is there an alternative wood to the balsa? It`s difficult to get near me and quite expensive on line. Any help will be much appreciated. Regards, Stuart.

Thanks Stuart. I have seen people using wine bottle corks, but this would take a lot of work in sanding. Another alternative might be to use local reeds which you can find along the riverbank. Here's a video showing how to make those floats: kzread.info/dash/bejne/maeAqLqqc8eepqw.html You could add the thin tip to these bodies.

Hi John. The fibreglass Pole Float Stems I used were 1mm in Diameter. The BBQ Skewer ones are around 2.5mm.

Hi Geoff. Try Keiths Tackle. Here's a link: www.keithsfishingtackle.com/fibreglassstems.html
If there are any kids watching this video, please dont go and clamp or cable tie your dads drill, this is a very dangerous way to use any kind of power drill, just go and buy your floats.
