DIY Air Purifier Box Fan - Easy to Customize and Cheap

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Lately, I have been trying to up my game dust and air quality wise. So I finally made my own DIY Air Purifier using a Box Fan. It’s really simple actually, just make a wooden box to house it and put an HVAC filter in front of it. You can also customize it really easily and put a larger more powerful fan if you want HEPA capabilities. The possibilities are endless and it is cheap, it cost me less than $40 total!

Great job man, yeah that last shot of the filter shows that it’s working. I need dust collection so bad …

When I first made it I was skeptical it was even working haha. I try to keep it near me when working and plan on making a smaller more improved version soon.

Thank you. Been using it for awhile now and I have identified some improvements for the next one I make. I’ll make an updated video on it

What if you used that intake slot for something like a washable fine mesh, like mosquito netting, speaker grill cloth, coarse open cell foam, etc. It’s low restriction but every particle that ends up there is one less particle clogging up the finite capacity in the disposable filter. Hit it with a vacuum or garden hose and it’s mostly good as new.

Great Design. May be asking too soon, but what is the area it will clean (sq. feet of room)? Could you post or tell me how to get the plans?

Thank you for watching! I’m actually planning on doing an updated version based on some lessons learned. I’ll post some plans with version 2.0 👍 To answer your other question. It comfortably filters out my garage shop which is about 250sqft or so

Would you recommend just putting a filter in the intake spot?
