Making your own #Christmas #ornaments is a wonderful tradition. In this tutorial, we will apply Cricut or hand-cut vinyl Christmas phrases like “Believe” and “Happy Holidays” to flat acrylic disc ornaments while adding bright, colorful #glitter to highlight our designs. The supply and template links for these Christmas Cricut vinyl and glitter disc ornaments are included below.
This is just one variant of my acrylic disc ornament series. Other acrylic disc ornaments include golf leaf and painted vinyl ornaments. I would not recommend the glitter disc ornaments as a project for children, but they will enjoy the acrylic disc paint and vinyl craft!

02:34 Step 1: Remove the protective film on one side of the ornament
03:35 Step 2: Apply Mod Podge spray to the ornament in a well-ventilated area
04:04 Step 3: Add glitter to the sticky side of the ornament
05:01 Step 4: Gently shake off the excess glitter, reseal the glitter side
06:04 Step 5: Cut out vinyl designs and phrases
07:27 Step 6: Weed down the trimmed designs
08:12 Step 7: Apply the vinyl designs to transfer paper
08:44 Step 8: Remove film from the other side of the ornament, and apply design

I’ve just made some of these for my sons teacher as a leaving gift. The thing I did differently was put the vinyl on first (mirrored the image before cutting) and put the glitter over the top to seal the vinyl in.
I just received my first cricut from my family as an early Xmas gift. I normally paint everything by hand, but I’m frantically scrambling trying to get gifts ready for everyone - I’ve been watching your tutorials the past few days, and feel ready to give it a go, lol. Thank you so much for the freebies AND the ever so helpful tutorials. ☺️👍
I like this way better than regular ornaments. You can put them in a ziplock bag and it doesn’t take up too much space. I did something different for my daughter but somewhat similar. Kind of.

You do not need to seal the vinyl on the ornament. If you wish to seal the glitter on back just go over it with an extra layer of mod podge. :)
Oh my gosh so easy and, I do have of the supplies already. Will Polycrylic Spray work just as well as Modge Podge Spray?

Yes, to seal the glitter so it doesn't shed and become messy, you will want to apply an additional coat of the spray an d allow it to dry completely before flipping the ornament over and applying the vinyl to the other side:)

Glitter can be tough to control and unfortunately, I have not found a fool proof way to keep it from getting everywhere 🤣
Do you reseal the glitter by spraying the mod podge again over it? Thanks!

Hi Amy, You will want to follow the drying instructions on the Mod Podge can, but it will depend on how heavily you spray the ornaments. I purchase my glitter from Amazon here: amzn.to/3GgJjJ4

so after the second layer of glitter did you seal it with anything?

Yes, to prevent glitter shedding you may find it helpful to apply a layer of sealer on top of the final layer of glitter as well.
Oh no! My husband isn’t going for loose glitter. I used glitter vinyl. 😩😩😩
