The moment has finally arrived for the REAR section of my 5 Lug Conversion on my Honda Accord CB7! Hope you enjoy the video :)
SIDENOTE: I am currently open to suggestions on how I can possibly resolve my thread issue. I was thinking maybe shave down the notches where the studs sit to be able to fit the hub & drum flush together, but that will require lots of cutting and grinding. But, again, I'm open to suggestions.

Dude, I can't believe you saw how far off the depth was for that hub and you didn't stop after seeing that the brake shoes are now going to be spreading way off center. And throwing that washer away is a bad idea. That's a very thick washer for a reason; it's holding a lot of torque on that hub. I'd venture to say the surface area of the face on that nut is probably half of that washer. Given that (I'm no engineer though)I think the force on the face of that nut may be X to the power of 2. If it were me, I probably would've tried to figure out what other Honda hub might fit, maybe even see if you could take off that ABS ring and shave off about 15mm off of the face of that Prelude hub. That would suck it right in and possibly be in a better location.

It kind of looked like the center bore of the drum needs to be a tad bit bigger in order for it to sit flush, it’s not a good/safe idea to run it like that since the hub won’t make it through the hole in the wheel and potentially loosening up while driving

Havan Barnes yes i did actually. use acura rsx rear rotors & prelude hubs for the disc conversion, if you have drum i believe you can still use the prelude hub with the crv drum cover. and for the fronts use the first gen honda odyssey front knuckle. I know you can use the 6th gen v6 accord knuckle but i’m not really sure what you use. Follow me on IG @1017juixe_ and I’ll send you some screenshots of the parts list i used

What's up, if i can put this out there, that swap is sketch.... Hear me out, that washer is to keep the bearing and nut separate since the wheel is spinning in the same direction as to loosen the nut. It didn't look like there was enough indentation on the nut to securely keep it locked into place. I just don't want to see you lose a wheel or life for a washer. Keep up the cb love.

Winston Buzon I wonder if you could press out the bearing of the new one and see if you could find one that's not as wide? I think that will give you the extra room to run the washer and get a good notch on the nut.

Try cb7tuner.com. Go to the search bar and type "5 lug conversion". It should work. I did the one where I had to use the Mazda 6 hub nut

I succeeded with Honda S-MX hubs (42200-S70-008) and Mazda nuts. The dimension is nearer than that of Prelude. minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/257050/car/2856104/4895512/photo.aspx minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/257050/car/2856104/5823435/note.aspx

Ok, I’m full-on scared. Gotta ask, bro.....How many vehicles have you worked on that are out there driving around on the road, possibly killing folks? There’s like 4 or 5 GLARING safety violations if you actually put the hub together this way. Dude, please, get a professional mechanic to take a look at that setup before you kill somebody. Just because it’s the cheapest and easiest way to get the job done, that shouldn’t convince you to do it that way. Some things can’t be shortcut-ed......like braking systems! Please please please don’t ride around with that hub/drum as it is at the end of your video. No offense man, I really appreciate your videos, but that’s simply not safe, for the driver OR anyone nearby.

Well, I decided to not go with this hub. I got some proper hubs and am riding safe to this day. The last video seen me drive the CB7 it was perfect, no noises, no problems whatsoever, but I also appreciate your concerns

Not worth it. That is so dangerous. That thick steel KEYED WASHER is there to prevent the spindle nut from coming off if the hub bearing was to lock up. Manufacturers spend millions on training engineers to come up with something that works. Ask yourself this: could they build a car like that and pass d.o.t regulations?

There’s actually a skinnier nut that could be utilized. It’s a mazda axle nut. It is thinner. Also, you can just buy extended lugs.
