DIY 4 Post Lift Custom LED Light Upgrade - Huge Improvement!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

One of the best upgrades to a 4 post lift, is the addition of some lighting. Not only does this help with visibility when you're working up under a car or truck, but it hides nicely out of the way. Best of all, there will be no more need for corded drop lights or any additional lighting.
Follow along to see how Nick put this kit together and check out the final results!
$55.17 for the channel and $29.00 worth of LED's- Less than $100 for everything needed!

Nice video. Both links to the lights and channel are no longer available as I figured this was 7 months ago. Any chance with providing the specific details such as the name/model of those items and also what double sided tape did you use? Also how did you secure the power supply on the lights. Thanks in advance..

I have the same lift and a 65 Impala SS. We have talked before. I enjoy your videos. I'm going to do something like this to my lift. I use the plastic drip trays that came with the lift. They are light and plastic so it should not be a problem to lay them on top of or next to the LED strips. I also store the ramps in the lift, so they slide along the rail where the LED strips would sit. Do you store your ramps on the lift rails and have you had any problems with the lights? Your links are outdated, were there any key words I could use to find similar lights? I am finding a bunch of multi-color lights.

Hi Scott! Thanks for following along! You have a 65 impala SS too? Awesome! Nope, I don't store my ramps on the lift. I built a shelf and they hang from my wall out of the way, same with the casters. The lights are still working great, and the plastic drip pans don't affect them at all! I hope that helps! I'll try to track down some new links since they changed them up on me. Thanks!

@@ClassicNation yeah. we have talked a couple of time over various social media platforms. I just asked you if you were going to do a Tremec when you were looking for a 4 speed console earlier today. I have a 65 SS with a 700R4...and a 4 post lift. I have toyed with a Tremec and will be curious to see what you end up doing. My guess is that doing a conversion would probably run about $4-5K unless you can cobble it together for less than that. Are you running a 480LE now?

Since I don't see any info beyond the non-working links: Search for "V Shape LED Aluminum Channel" to find the extrusion with cover You may also need additional connectors for the channel. Search for "Corner Connector for V Shape LED Aluminum Channel" The brand of the channel I'm buying is "Hunhun" I'm going to use self-adhesive neodymium magnets to secure the channel rather than sticking tape to my lift And the LED strips are pretty ubiquitous. I'm using two sets of Daybetter brand lights. Search for "daybetter COB LED Strip 16.4 ft White LED" And will join the strips using connectors you can find by searching for "2-Pin 8mm COB LED Strip Gapless Connector" Total cost including magnets: $102. Hopefully this saves someone a little time.

I did something similar but I used some aluminum rails that I bought from Lowes. I mounted the aluminum rails to the diamond plate surface using strong double sided tape. Then I mounted my LED strips to the aluminum rails. Here's a video review of my car lift that includes my LED strip lighting in case you're interested. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qHV-x6aqerSdZZs.html

Rather than all the car shots at the end why not show how you got power to the lights, switches etc? I woulda put the velcro onto the aluminum pieces first and trimmed off the excess... (The links for your parts don't work) Your headers sure hang down a lot.
