DIY $10 Hidden Light Bar Brackets Install - 4Runner (5th Gen.)
Install video for DIY Hidden Light Bar Brackets for a 5th gen. 4Runner. This entire light bar, wiring, and brackets cost me $40 TOTAL. I'm pretty cheap and didn't want anything super expensive. I figured there had to be a cheaper option for installing a hidden light bar on a 4runner than buying $60 brackets. I couldn't find anything online so I decided to make my own.
Stuff I bought:
Light Bar Nilight 22" w/ wiring kit $25 - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06...
2 - 8" Shelf Brackets $10 - www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-...
Self Tapping Screws $5 - www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-10-x...
Steps:
0 - Open PBR
1 - Paint the brackets black (so they dry while you take the bumper off)
2 - Remove Bumper (great video: • HOW TO REMOVE YOUR FRO...
3 - Attached brackets to Light Bar
4 - Set Light Bar in Place to mark screw holes
5 - Detach Brackets from Light Bar and screw to metal frame thing (I'm not a car person)
6 - Reattach the Light Bar

8 - Test and reassemble
9 - Finish PBR

Yup! Still works great. The only downside so far is the bar is difficult to keep clean because of the grille.
It's unclear because it's obvious! JK Make more videos and I'll buy you a case of PBR.
