Great and fun review! It's the kinda thing you don't need but want :) You mentioned switches but I'd love it if you could buy other colored keys too. The one thing that kept me from buying the white model was the color of the menu key. Also, I can't wait for someone to hack it. Could be cool to run something dumb with Raspberry Pi OS on it :-D

Never seen this thing before. Looks interesting. Do you know the battery life, when it's not playing music? Like if you just leave it as a clock, and maybe show things like weather? Also, another reason being able to disassemble it, Is that there's PROBABLY enough space inside that thing to increase the battery capacity. Either with 18650's, 18350's, or a generic Li-Ion battery pack, which if there's room, is easy to wire in. Just connect any new batteries to the current batteries in parallel.

I have something similar to this but when unplugged and in clock mode at the lowest brightness setting, it lasts for a whole day.
