Division 2 Incursion: Guide To Rushing Lovebirds So We Can All Forget About The Gate Strat

This video is dedicated to every player who says their group needs to waste their groups time doing the gate strat because "the group lacks DPS". I promise, DPS is not the problem, it really never is. The gate strat is literally more difficult to pull off than just simply rushing, PLEASE let the gate strat die.

You don't strictly need these builds, I have done it where we all used high end builds with yellow cores to be intentionally useless, and another run where we all used 6p 5:11 builds. But 3 Striker 1 FI is common/recommended for a reason.
People who don't think they have enough DPS simply just don't understand what needs to be done for the rushing strategy. I was annoyed that all the popular YT guides are all rushed week 1 videos at the release of the incursion made by people who only had a run or two completed.
Quick rundown on the rush strategy, assuming a typical group of 4:
Skills:
Healer will have restore hive and repair chem launcher.
Among the 3 DPS players you will have at least 1 of each skill to significantly boost your groups damage:
Booster Hive
Striker Shield (from firewall spec)
Decoy
Scanner (or Remote) Pulse
Drop a decoy as you run in to attract Johnson, otherwise he will shock you while you try to damage Martinez. Run in and use an ACS12 to build striker stacks and damage 1 bar if Martinez's armor, this will swap The Kid, Lovebirds drone. Kill the drone to start the damage phase. The FI healer will OC once The Kid is dead, once OC is active the DPS players will drop the booster hive and pulse. Once the drone is dead (not before) go under the arches so Johnson will through the sniper turret above where it won't hit anyone. DPS players will toss a grenade to proc sledge and activate bloody knuckles.
THIS IS THE KEY TRICK TO THIS FIGHT:
Shoot Martinez until Johnson comes up, but once you see Johnson dump all your damage into Johnson. Bring Johnson down to less than 4 bars of health remaining, this will cause him to deploy the healing station and give you more time in this damage phase. Often failed attempts will be caused by Johnson getting the drone up before you bring him to this threshold. An attempt where the drone comes back up when Johnson has just over 4 bars of health remaining, no matter where Martinez is currently at, is an attempt that was very close to being successful.
Kill the healing station immediately and switch all damage to Martinez. Bring Martinez down to 4 bars of armor remaining, then swap back to Johnson until Johnson is dead, then swap back to Martinez and kill Martinez.
For the healer: OC when the drone is dead and drop chem heals to keep everyone alive. Martinez will throw an emp grenade eventually, so being in technician spec and having the hive within 5m of your group will make you all immune to emp and your heals becoming useless. The healers primary job is not actually healing (although try to keep a chem heal active at all times), it is keeping sledgehammer active throughout the fight. Keep it up, it's a stupidly OP buff. Try to time the grenades so you throw while it's active and but they explode after sledge is gone. Keep an eye on how well timed @Souless13_ throws his grenades to keep sledge active, in addition to dropping the occasional heal.

This might be one of the only division YT vids I've ever watched all the way thru LMAOO Also, I know Raucey said this in the video, but I wanted to highlight it again. They killed this boss with only 1 damage player... you can more than triple his damage by having 3 damage players (2 of them using the Ouroboros, and 1 using the scorpio would result in more than triple Raucey's solo damage in this video). P.S. this guy's clan is awesome, you should check them out ;)

Great vid Raucey. I have hundreds of clears and dozens of Duo clears. Maybe it would be a great idea to show people how to take out the drones with the EMP sticky or pulse when doing the tanker section. As well as the most optimal place to stand where the come out. Also, if there is a skill available for the team, someone can run the repair trap as when it is overcharged, you get healed and status immunity for 10 seconds for the Lovebirds. I'm on PSN and it would be cool to play with you.
This is a very good video. Simple and easy, I never even knew about the gate strat, tent strat, whatever it's called, I was so surprised when I first heard a guy mention it and I thought it was stupid. The guy's argument to me was bruh I have 180 clears, I almost always do it like this, so this works. I guess simple and easy is not enough for some.
i have never done these raids or incursions , as i am mainly a solo player , although i use to play in the Div 1 DZ as part of a team a few years ago now , and i did enjoy it , this is a great explanation on how to do this mission, and gives people info on what to expect and the counter moves to defeat these cringy Love birds :} new subscriber here btw

you should jump into one, and give a try. I'm also a solo player,, but do go and match make and join randoms.. I know its a risk, but for me, I've been lucky , and played with good players. My tip would be watch videos of the runs, so you understand positions and locations of each of the 4 areas.

It depends if my group are using a mic or not. If I am then running up there is my preferred method but I also play a lot through random matchmaking and no mic. In which case playing from the gate is just way less of a headache.

i never understood why the gate strat is even a thing..they should have made it so the game forces you inside like in literally wvery other encounter in the game

🫡Ok, Cool. Thank you Sir. It is still inconsistent in accomplishing this due to matchmaking and the lack of gameplay skill and/ or some agents not having build pieces. Not to mention the quitters, many being Pvp guys trying for the Oreo. But if the vid gets around maybe in a month or so.... Otherwise, the gate strat lives. So please All finish however you best can get to the next try. Don't worry about folks who are concerned with Best, Better, Optimum stuff. Learn, grow and play your way. I have given away 4 Oreos helping people thru and I will continue to, gate strat or not. See you out there 🫡

the gate strat will always be better because you simply shoot, don't die and it's done. this guide, and many others for raids, is just a robotic manual trying to complicate a simple thing
