DREAMS COME TRUE AND LA LA LOVE BEST KPOP SONGS EVER

For context on the transition from Dreams Come True and La La Love remember that Save Me Save You goes in the middle, which was like a bridge between both vibes. Also sadly Dreams Come True is the last MV with the Chinity (thank you Chinity for going out with a masterpiece!), but curiously it's not the last song with them, in La La Love's album, WJ Stay, the Chinese members recorded their vocals for the b-side Memories, which holds a very special place in my heart, since Chinity were all my biases

the 3 song run of dreams come true, save me save you, and la la love literally saved the world like.. we were on the brink of a musical apocalypse and they saved us for a moment there

Long story short their concept revolves around the Zodiac Signs which was more apparent on their earlier MVs with space concepts. They first debuted with 12 members and each of them were assigned a Zodiac Sign they honestly weren’t gaining much attention from the public so the company decided to add YeonJung early on as she had a lot of attention at the time from the public due to her being a member of IOI (first ever Produce group), they added her on their 3rd MV which was Secret, it’s where you guys kept repeating of someone being “summoned”. Around the same time they added her it coincided with the huge debate about whether or not there are 12 or 13 Zodiac signs the 13th being Ophiuchus which they call the “forgotten constellation of the zodiac, this was the perfect way for them to add a new member, YeonJung which was a wise decision due to the attention being given to her. However their Zodiac Sign / Space concept was pretty much abandoned after the fact that the 3 Chinese members got busy in China and they eventually never returned with the company never making any announcement, they had no control over the 3 members as they were under a Chinese company. WJSN was a collaboration between Starship and Yuehua and the 3 members came from the latter, they only ever really announced their status in the group just recently after contract renewal with the rest of the members. Fun fact : people are still using the 12 Zodiac sign system, most people don’t even know that there’s a 13th.

aw, these videos reminded me how important of a role cheng xiao had in the group. she was my original bias before the chinese members had to leave. i feel WJSN has two moments where they defined their sound: the first was secret when yeonjung was introduced and the official lineup was cemented, and the second was save me save you when the group tried rebirthing their magical concept with a new sound and lineup. for this reason, their discography feels cohesive if you look at their pre- and post-chinese lineup work separately, but can feel inconsistent if you’re getting into their videos out of chronological order. also i’ll recommend watching WJSN’s live performances. IMO, they’re one of the best performance-oriented groups of the 3rd gen alongside seventeen. dreams come true, save me save you, la la love, unnatural, and their queendom performances of as you wish and pantomime are all SUPER powerful. you can tell they truly have a passion and devotion for their music and concept, which comes across in their performances. it solidified them as one of my ult groups because of this, so it’s kind of a necessity to get into them as it’s a huge part of their appeal.

Renaissance, miracle, Baby face, you got, I-yah, new me, our garden.. I have so many songs I want to recommend 😭

If you are doing B-sides, I HIGHLY recommend "You Got", it has a dance video from a variety show, the outfits, the choreo, the song, the sexy, you will love it! Oh and you have to watch the origin of The Black subunit, it was a dance cover of BO$$ by those members, that was the inspiration for the unit.

I hope you’ll check out some live stages for your deep dive too! WJSN are performance monsters with the way they draw you in with their intricate choreography and their intense glances. They’re famed for their delicate hand movements and beautiful transitions when they dance.

I discovered WJSN with *Dreams come True* in 2018 and became obsessed with them this very day cause I really dig the City Pop vibe the song exudes. Even if I'm not that much into their earlier stuff, most of what they released since *Dream your Dream* ( *UNNATURAL* , *Neverland* and *Sequence* specially ) is just so good! I really love these women. I hardly recommend you listen to titles *Pantomime* and *Last Sequence* on your free time 💖
