Can you explain why it's divided by 7 days and not 24 hours? i understand that you have to divide by 7, but the logic of WHY you have to divide by 7 or why you have to divide the inches instead of the days is something i can't explain in my mind clearly in my head. Or for example, when you have a word problem like: "Marc bought 68 ounces of juice for 4.69 cents, how much did he pay for each ounce of juice? " Can you/anyone explain the logic of why 4.69 cents is divided by 68 ounces and not the other way around (68 ounces divided by 4.69 cents)? Thanks.

When asked how much it is for each of something, like each ounce or each day, it is the "each" unit that you divide by. This is because any division problem solution (quotient), gives you the amount for each group each group.
