Divers: Fix your trim by using your head and other musings.

Фильм және анимация

Divers obsess about trim. It usually takes multiple days of instruction for a diver to start to understand good trim. Ask for a side on shot for anybody who try to tell you otherwise and you might find them a bit hippocampus ... Hopefully you'll get a tip or two to help you towards epic trim from this and maybe a bit of humour.

It's so funny. I just went through all of the same learning on my own that you summarized in 6 minutes. This is probably one the best videos on trim I've seen, and it really ties into Dorota's video on small backplates for short divers... The very confusing thing is people see positive trim as the result and try to move things to make them more negatively trimmed when in reality they're negatively trimmed and compensating for it the entire time.

Awesome video! If you have the time I would love your input on an issue I have. I am head-heavy and think my tanks being too tight could be the issue. I have a cinch system and my solution for getting it equally tight on both sides has been to tighten it as much as possible. Do you have any tips to tighten the backplate so the tanks are centered and the same height every dive? Am currently thinking of selling the cinch and using a normal harmess instead.

I’d go normal harness every time :). With cinch you can put a triglide on the shoulder strap to stop the straps pulling through too far
