Yet 1 more question regarding the tether connection point. This is specifically for that last float demo’d in the video.

I made a 4 wheel cart with 10" wheels, from a commercial bread tray upside down. 1/4" alum plate at the corners, and 1/2"pipe axles. The wheels are held on with long bolts inside the pipes, drilled for removable hitch pins. The inside of the tray is filled with closed cell polyethylene foam sheets. 2'X2'X5" thick.. the whole thing floats. The wheels are well below the top, to avoid rubbing on things on top of it. It also has a dive flag 1/2" pipe flange in the center, for a flag. It can carry all the dive gear for two, a "Brownies 3rd lung", gas powered Hookha Pump system and hoses from the car to the beach. As you know, we do not leave anything on the beach while your under water, The hookha pump floats on its own inner tube with a dive flag pipe on that as well, and the cart carries all the extra stuff (clothing, keys, etc. dry in a bin strapped to the top of the cart that also towed behind us while diving. Cheers.. I luv your videos.

Don't fly a dive flag/float in Quebec lakes, boaters all come to see what's happening so surfacing is near impossible, you have to surface under your own boat to be safe.

Sorry it took so long my friend but there's a video up on my KZread channel now called modifying your dive flag for greater durability, just search Keith Robinson on KZread with that title and it will come right up. I apologize for the delay I had to reshoot it a few times originally I was going to put full detailed instructions on how to put the whole thing together use the Dremel a glue gun that sort of thing that I realized two things one we're divers looking at Tech tips chances are we can use a Dremel so I didn't think I'd walk you through all the details I decided instead of a quick three video series one video would be better and then I realized I'm over my data and I was having a real trouble getting anything to upload so I decided to keep it to a quick 3 minute video that just shows the modification I made how I went about it roughly but it does show the parts I used in detail.

I'm about to shoot a video covering dive flags I have seen that you said that you can't set this up for a thin line I happen to have this exact perfect to die flag and I tend to agree with you on both counts that it's you got to use a thicker rope unless you make a fix so I'm going to show you guys a good fix that works awesome right now and plugging in my glue gun and I will show you guys how to put a support into that that is made of metal and will be strong enough to do the job even if you use fishing line as I do it will work for you Keith Robinson is the name of my channel dive flag fix will be the name of the video it won't be uploaded today probably tomorrow but I'm sure about to shoot it right now

My shop suggested I use a length of chain to keep the buoy from traveling a distance in waves. I sometimes wonder if I am carrying that extra weight for little purpose or reason. Anyone use a length of chain between the anchor and the rope going to the underside of the buoy?

I use a bolt snap to attach my line to the bottom of the float.

Would adding a Gromit to those rubber holes fix the issue with the rope pulling through?

I have the diver below flag. I have had it almost 20 years. I use a metal clip to connect to the rubber on the bottom and it has held up for all these years.

For my dive flag, iv got the one you mentioned the loop gets cut off. I have a metal clip on my rope that goes in that and iv had no issues with it. I also hang a small lead weight directly below it and it keeps it up right very nicely.

Good point not used much these days. On flashes we use a bravo burgee flag for diving in the UK. Half is blue and the other is white.

I would add a stainless steel ring to the bouy and put the rope through that instead of the plastic

Alec, realisticaly speaking, are you supposed to use this prior to your dive, or while underwater? Im sorry i have no diving experience, but i have been following your chanel and binge watching this tech tips, and it seems that there is a whole lot of gear that you talk about, now how are you supposed to fix all that, i mean, snorkel, knife, slate, spear, spear gun, delayed pick up floatie thing i dont remember the name, dashboards, computers, flashlights, recognition night lights, god forbid you actually decide to bring underwater camaeras, thats another whole can of worms, flash lights, what if you a underwater scooter. i mean cmno man, seriously, you need like 5 legs and 7 arms. You become like a human submarine with all these gadgets sticking around and clipped to the sides. add on wheights, and you gotta be like swarseneger to be able to drag all that around. can you just make a video on ... multitasking underwater :)
