@@DaSpineLessFish 1. This is a joke 2. I’m his patron. I know bomber version never slowed 262 development 3. Massive number of 262 were originally given to bomber units and used very poorly, to the point that pilots from JG54, the most decorated German bomber squadron, gave up bombing entirely and flew it as a fighter. Their inexperience with fighter got a lot of them killed when they would have been much more effective if they stuck to their Fw190 (edit: they might’ve been using Me410 prior, not fw190). 4. Point is, lots of engines, airframes, fuel, talented bomber pilots were lost because 262 was initially pressed into bomber role.

I remember seeing plans for a RC droppable 'Bomb' in a RC mag in the 80's. It had a Plunger arrangement inside that pushed an 'explosion' of flour out the back of the bomb. the plunger was depressed by the nosecone hitting the ground this compressed the flour/air mix inside the body of the bomb, popped the snug fitting tail section off in a cloud of flour so you always knew where it landed. It was really simple nosecone attached to a stick with a close fitting disc attached to the other end inside the body of the bomb. as long at you pulled the nosecone forward to fill the 'air/flour' chamber enough.

Sadly there are more RC ones in the air than actual ones in the sky. Here in Germany, there is only one original ME262 at the Messerschmidt museum . They also have a BF109 two-seater, a bf109 G (idk which variant) , a me 163 komet and a bf 108. All are still able to fly and are sometimes in the air. The museum is owned by Airbus

If you haven’t already you should do a versus battle with the B-17 “Flying Fortress”. My great grandmother worked on building them for the army during WW2. I also had a family member (great uncle I’m assuming) that was in the B17 as a tail gunner. The plane was shot heavily and he had to bail while it was spinning.

I just finished building an F-82 Twin Mustang. I cut 2 FT Mustang plans, and designed the center wing and tail. It’s just a chuck glider, but it soars straight and slow, and has a great presence in the air. I hope to power a Twin Monster Mustang some day.

Dave has definitely become the “go to” guy for specialty accessories and basically just making stuff work. I’m not sure they could do half what they’ve done lately without him. On top of that I love his calm, “guy next door, just get it done” attitude”. The type of guy you’d like to have as a neighbor 😄

You should put little water balloons with red dye in the large bombs with small spray holes so that when the bomb actually hits target, the water sprays all around giving the "bomb" some fun effects.

I’ve seen people (myself included) have great flying airplanes made from coro!!! Spadstang (mustang), Corospit (spitfire) and even my personal favorite...the B.U.H.O.R! I know all of you ladies and gentlemen can bring the simple love I’ve come to know to a whole new crowd! Make me proud FT nation!!!!!!!!!!!
