Hi Chandra, I've been listening to all of these celebrities like Kim Whitley and Serena Williams, doing these voice-overs, while thinking to myself that I really could be doing that. Do you know anyone in the business to whom I could send a recording of my voice and get at least a critique, if not an opportunity to do some voice-over work? When we met all those years ago, we were both young. It didn’t help that I’ve battled anxiety and depression my whole life; but, I actually thought you were snobbish. LOL.It’s unfortunate that we didn’t click. Craig and I were good friends for many years. Some of my best friends throughout the years have been male. I think it’s because I never had a brother. We fell out about 3 years ago, over something silly; but, it was a very stressful, down time for me. He had been calling, but I’ve rarely answered my phone for years. He left me a message saying, ” I knooooooow you saw that I was calling” I wasn’t in a good place emotionally, so I thought, “Who does he think he is, demanding that I answer the phone?” I didn’t respond. We didn’t talk again after that. Fast forward to about 3 months ago. Corona...though I’ve been fortunate thus far, not to have been personally affected, I decided, life really is too short and it was silly that I lost contact with one of the few people that I actually considered a real friend, so I messaged him. I was sad to hear that Ms. Jo had passed. He said she passed about 5 years ago and I don’t really remember if it was 5 years or 3 years since the phone incident occurred; but, I was meaning to ask him if he was calling me to tell me that she had passed, the last time he called. That would just be sad if that were true. We messaged a few times about 2 months ago. I recently realized I hadn’t heard from him, so I sent him a few text messages, to which I didn’t get a response. I’ll try calling him later to see if he still has the same number. If you talk to him, would you please tell him to call me. Are you wondering what prompted this letter? A couple of things. The main impetus requires far more typing than you’ll care to read, so I’ll go with the other reason. I’ve really wanted to get into voice-overs for a lot of years. For one reason or another I’ve just not seriously pursued it. Recently , I came across a group of people who charge $4000.00 to complete their program. They’re called Such a Voice. Briget Renshaw is the person with whom I’ve been in contact. She says I could actually be working before paying the whole $4000.00, which would be ideal. I believe they’re legit in that I could get some training and at the very least it would be fun. Having said that, I’m thinking I probably could read for someone right now and be able to get a job, judging from what I’m hearing on television and radio. I know there’s nothing in this for you. I know you probably have an unfavorable opinion of me because of our one interaction; but, if you’re in the least bit inclined to help, I would so genuinely appreciate it. Can you put me in contact with someone who would be willing to listen to a recording of my voice and let me know if they think it’s good enough already to get voice-over work? Of course I still think some training would be beneficial; but, I also believe that somewhere out there is a marketing person who has a project for me.. If you’ve read this far, that may be a good sign. LOL. I’ve asked Craig throughout the years to tell you congratulations on all of your success. I’m not sure if he relayed the message; so......Congratulations on all of your success. I mean that genuinely. I’ve always thought that, at least I kind of know someone who actually made it. I don’t know if Craig ever told you that we met in an acting class. LOL I thank you for your time, Patricia
