I just wanted to say I stopped breastfeeding around 4 months old because of how hard it was and my baby is 9 months old and I STILL feel guilty about it :( I know it’s fine! But it’s that mom guilt feeling. Uhg lol

hi mama! my daughter had to be hospitalized twice because of respiratory issues and it is so scary ! i’m so sorry you had to go through that! we used the owlet as well and it was so helpful to be able to keep track of her breathing, just know you’re not alone

That dollhouse is in SUCH GOOD CONDITION! $10 was a bargain omg I’ve been trying to salvage my grandmother’s childhood dollhouse for a while now and it’s been so much work and so expensive. Can’t wait to see the little ones playing with it some day🥺❤️

Oh. MY WORD. I cannot believe you find that dollhouse for TEN BUCKS!?! With accessories?!?! Also I'm obsessed with the color (I know you want to paint it but... IT'S SO PRETTY ALREADY!) And seriously, how were there studio McGee art prints already at Goodwill? Your Goodwill is like, FAR and away higher quality than the ones near me! I need to go thrifting with you next time I'm up in Seattle! And that darling hutch, wow. Isn't it the best feeling when you find a piece you've been hunting for forever?? Your kitchen has come together so beautifully. I'm so so sorry about Juniper not feeling well. I had no idea. Totally would've had her recovery in my prayers. And I feel you on the breastfeeding--I had to pump exclusively for a week when I experienced intense vasospasm in the first month, and on the front end when my milk was super late coming in and he was starving. Took me months to build my supply back up so I could nurse exclusively during the day, but it did happen much later. For months though I was pumping after every feed to keep up and it nearly destroyed me. I feel for you because we are so much harder on ourselves than we are on other moms and would never dream of demanding the same of someone else. By the way if your nips are raw again and you see some blanching, try putting those hot hands packets in some socks and stuffing those in your bra instead of using cold. That was a major relief for me. Hang in there--you are doing ✨ amazing✨ my friend!

Love how you brought some attention to the guilt about trying to exclusively breastfeed. My baby girl was born with a class 3 tongue and lip tie that tore up my nipples so I switched to exclusively pumping on day 5. My daughter was born peek pandemic and pediatric dentists were not considered a necessity in my state so we had to wait until she was 7 months old to get her ties revised. It was so bad she couldn't even swallow solid food and struggled with latching even a bottle. She was on the newborn feeding schedule until her ties were revised and once they healed successfully she finally started to ween from night time feeds. She is 19 months old now and is such an amazing eater. I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant with baby boy and hired a personal lactation consultant who works with our pediatric dentist bc baby boy will likely be born with severe ties as well. Hoping to actually breastfeed this baby but still purchased all the new pumping supplies just incase

You are so right about the guilt of breastfeeding! Even though I would never judge another mom for pumping or formula feeding (as I had to do), I wouldn't extend myself the same grace!

I want another kid but I'm kind of terrified, you're making it look so doable and fun :)

Thank you for your honesty and sharing your experience with breastfeeding. I dealt with major nursing issues (shallow latch/pain/cracking/bleeding) until we got my daughters tongue and lip tie lasered at 8 weeks. 8 weeks of pain was soooo hard. Props to you for pushing through! I agree and feel the same way about being hard on myself even though I know I would never judge anyone else for their feeding choices!

I’m SO glad you brought up guilt around breastfeeding! Same! I would NEVER judge anyone else for their choices, but I feel guilty for stopping even after a whole year!? Mom feelings are so weird! Also, about the suctioning- we were told by our Ped that if we suctioned more than a few times a day, it could cause inflammation and swelling/narrowing in their nasal passages which can mimic congestion! So, once we started just suctioning at night and 1-2 times in the day before feedings so she could breathe and nurse it got so much better! 🙏🏻💕

Super minimal detail, but I love that you reused Rowan’s blue swaddle for Juniper (assuming it was his from when he was little). I love seeing parents reuse items from kid to kid despite color/pattern rather than buying new - better for the environment & the budget! We’re expecting our first baby in October, a little girl, and I 100% plan to reuse her items for our next, even if it’s a boy… he can wear purple! Love this video too ✨

Tysm for the shout out to exclusive pumping mamas out there. I EP'd for 7months because of a severely shallow latch that we couldn't correct. I never hear anybody talk about it outside of support groups on Facebook. I hope little Juniper feels better soon and that you are getting a bit of rest ❤️

Thank you for this video. I tried to breastfeed and my daughter just wouldn't latch. And because I was working so hard and she couldn't pull all the milk out my supply tanked (my sweet girl was born four weeks early). The first time I needed to mix up a bottle with formula I felt like such a failure. I felt so judged. But my sweet girl is happy and fed so I had to get over that. I'm pumping and supplementing as I need to. Being a Mama is hard I'm so thankful that you are so encouraging. Thank you again!

How has your anxiety been with Juniper's respiratory distress as a newborn? Are you on medication? I am considering it for the next time. XO

it's so sad that mamas of well cared for, well loved, well fed babies are feeling guilt over how they are doing everything in the world to make sure their babies are just that - everything I mentioned before. This comes from a mother who has faced similar feelings of guilt over breastfeeding myself and as that mother I want to add a voice to say that it matters that you're talking about this, being vulnerable and open and creating conversation about this. It makes a difference to mums like me, to many people I am absolutely sure. You're adding your voice and your experience to such an important conversation - one that we need to have more. No parent should have to question themselves and experience guilt or self hatred over maybe not being able to provide your child their nourishment in the way you always pictured - but your child is getting that nourishment. Your baby is loved, is safe, is cared for, is fed. You are providing that. Maybe not in the way you always pictured, but you are. You're everything your child needs and more.

Often a latch like that is due to tongue and or lip ties. I had no trouble with nursing 4 out of 5 but number 3 ended up with blisters on nipples She had ties

One of the hardest things to do is to leave the house before 10A with a toddler, I can’t imagine adding a newborm 😩🤣

I have breastfed three babies, it is hard work and requires commitment. I know it is best for babies, breast milk is a wonder, how it evolves and provides. That being said, it is the dumbest thing to judge another mother on, parenting is hard without worrying about ppl judging you. There are more important things that go in to raising children

You shouldn’t feel guilty about struggling with breastfeeding with Juniper. You’re a wonderful mother to both of your babies. My sister couldn’t breastfeed her 1st baby because my niece was allergic to her breast milk, but she breastfeed her 2nd daughter for three years. I only breastfeed for a month because I was exhausted and my girl wasn’t getting enough to eat, so I had her put on formula. I hope Juniper is feeling better now.

As I remember you wanted to take a maternity leave from vlogging. But you changed your mind?
