Ditching Labels and Embracing Complexities: We Aren't Homesteaders.
I am back after a break from long videos with a new outlook on content creation. While it is more comfortable to try to fit into a certain niche and be similar to other people who are living a similar lifestyle, I want to be more true to myself.
I think words matter, and labels come with a lot of baggage. In this video I explain why we are ditching the label of "homestead." I also look into what we should call our place, is it a farm? a ranch?
In the end we are just breaking free from labels and being our own unique selves!

Every category is a generalized definition, but they are also misleading. No two places are alike. Ultimately, we watch because we like you.

@@growingwiththeroses I was being sarcastic lol. A lot of people I live near act like their 3 chickens in their yard are livestock or they live in the country. I live in a rural neighborhood. We have 5 acres and only had 2 dogs..... Funny enough my daughter came home from a sleep over with a baby rabbit. So I guess we have something besides a normal pet now. Like the video!

The point behind my video was trying to be more myself, and not just do what other people wanted to fit in. But as soon as you commented that, I was so worried validating what I thought was your experience that I totally didn't get the joke and said I agree to something that you didn't even agree with. I laugh because it just reminds me how much I don't know what other people want so living my life trying to say the right things for others is pointless, in the best way! Thank you for your comment!
