I purchased the Skil 40v Mower and trimmer/blower combo 2yrs ago. Very pleased with all of them. The Mower has been great 2 seasons of mowing grass. I have a 70ft by 150 ft lot, so small area. Normally only takes about half battery charge to mow whole yard, now if I do not get to mow for 2 or 3 weeks and gets tall, takes 3/4 battery. Been great, love being able to bag the clippings. Highly recommend. Skil 40v outdoor products. As you mentioned, there parent company owns EGO and some of same tech in used in Skil products was a reason I purchased over couple others brands and Skil is about $100 or more cheaper that EGO. Skil is slowly coming out with more tools. Great Battery platform to invest in.

That is what I did. Buy the mower and matching trimmer that also comes with a battery, you can share them if you need more than one battery to mow your grass. May as well because for what you pay for a battery alone you can buy a trimmer or blower that comes with a battery and charger. Just don't leave your batteries out in the shed or garage. They will be ruined by cold winters and very hot summers. You must keep them in climate- controlled area year- round. Mine are three years old now and they work fine.

Having used an Earthwise 20", 24v battery electric mower for a few years, we replaced it with a Skil 20" Powercore 40 when the motor bearings on the Earthwise wore out for the third time. The Skil was way better, lighter, and with far more power, with good sized wheels. It mows really well, and is surprisingly good at picking up leaves. It worked perfectly for about 8 months, but then just died when I was using it to pick up a thin fall of dry leaves. We went thru some troubleshooting steps relating to the handle assembly with the Skil help line, but when none of those worked, they sent us a replacement mower. I suspect there was a batch of these mowers with faulty components. Let's hope this replacement doesn't fail in the same way. As an RC hobbyist, I suspect the failure was in the speed controller, tho there were no sounds or white smoke when the mower died, and I can't yet figure out how to separate the red upper body from the deck.

I bought one last summer and it was great. This season the battery won’t hold a charge.

My experience has been the batteries last longer if I bag rather than mulch. Seems like the grass remaining under the mower to be cut and recut seems to work the motor harder and the charge does not last as long.

Based on your comment, I’m surprised that you have enough brain power to operate a lawnmower.
