Disturbed Sound Of Silence - REACTION

Ойын-сауық

This guys voice is crazy... did a good job with owning this song and what i mean by that is he didn't sing it like Simon & Garfunkel he did it his way. Take a listen and leave a comment below. Thanks for watching!!

I’ve seen dozens of reactions of this song/video, I like this kind of reaction the best. Reactions where the tuber feels the power of the song and get emotional. Tired of vocal coaches breaking down his voice and the video. They say things like “did you hear what he did with his voice?” Or “see the way he scrunches up his face?” They don’t feel the song, they’re just breaking it down. Perfect example of “Hearing without listening” You however, were listening to the music, feeling the lyrics and feeling the power of the vocals. Great reaction 🤙🏽

David is a classically trained cantor. His control is magnificent. Every single time I watch this masterpiece I get goosebumps and I cry. I touches something very deep and far away inside of me. Millions of people...with and without faith have said that this version of the song was the closest thing that they have ever felt to a Religious experience. I am constantly drawn back to this video like a moth to a flame. To me...this is the very best cover...ever. Paul Simon has said that this song now belongs to David.

I’ve said it before, it’s almost a religious experience. It fits and sits right with every emotion. It starts off calm and balanced, it gains momentum and power, then comes love, despair and the pain that they invoke…. Then the moment that it all slips away leaving the hollow emptiness of devastation and gut wrenching finality. Beautiful, powerful and jaw droppingly thought provoking.

That feeling that welled up in you is the realization that something two artists tried to point out in the sixties through a song is still ( and may be worse) relevant today. "people hearing without listening" -- the current divide in our country "people bowed and prayed to the neon god they made" -- get you information from one source only never looking elsewhere. Paul & Art sang us a warning long ago David hammered home the fact that we did not heed the warning.

I have watched MANY reaction and review videos of this song because its one of m y all time favorites and may be the best vocal and PARTICULARLY the arrangement as he subtly paints layers on his canvas, which appears to be black to start, not stark white like. most. This song is maybe more relevant than when it was written and I think that is what makes it so timeless. These issues of communication (or lack thereof) must stop or we WILL end up somewhere we don't want to be as humans on this Earth. Thank you for saying what I have been feeling in a way which is much more elegant and poignant than what I could have done. (As you can see I tend to ramble when Im emotional)

I’ve been a lover of this song since I was a child, my older brother would play this and ‘Bridge over troubled waters’ over and over and over. I got the meaning at a very young age. I heard it again in the ‘Watchmen’ movie which started it all again ❤️ HOWEVER I discovered this version and the live version from the Conan O’Brien show only a few days ago and it has really touched my soul. I can’t stop listening to it. Simon and Garfunkel’s version was a soft warning of what may come and this is anger that we’ve let it happen. Magical 🙏 It has opened my heart and soul. Let’s start listening to our hearts, souls and each other brothers and sisters before the silence becomes permanent 😡. Thank you for playing it my friend I believe you got the message 🙏❤️.

After that video, I called my younger son and asked him to listen to it and told him that I had finally understood the song. I agree with others that Simon & Garfunkel sang a warning while David is angry that we, as a society, have ignored that warning.

The very beginning of the video when a lot of people think there is something wrong with their volume, is the sound of silence. David (lead singer of Disturbed) put so much power and emotion into this song. His voice and facial expressions as well as the story going on in the video to the song made this my very favorite of all times. The live version is outstanding but that video pumped up the emotion to go along with David's version of the song. Always gives me goosebumps... Amazing!

I loved your reaction. The song does leave you speechless. You probably have discovered by now that it's a song that was written in the early 60s I believe, by a group named Simon and Garfunkel. They were kind of looking to the future into a world in which technology has made people grow apart. The vision the writer has in the song is a warning that he wants people to heed. And when Disturbed sings it, It's almost like he's saying y'all didn't listen to Simon and Garfunkel so let me tell you again in a more powerful way. Thank you for doing a reaction video. 😍

This song has so many different meanings... When schools, especially public schools from kindergarten through high school run out of funding the first programs they cut ✂️ are the art's, music, theater etc. Also, ISOLATION, DIVISION, LONELINESS, NOT COMMUNICATING, NOT STANDING UP FOR OUR RIGHTS OR EXPRESSING OURSELVES AND WHAT WE BELIEVE IN, I could go on and on.

It's pain for our world now, Paul Simon said recently he wrote this song for David to sing. We don't talk to each other anymore, we txt? we email ... it's a warning pure and simple. A warning of what's to come ... peace to you.

Your comments are so very true. And exactly to the point of the song what are we doing just now ??? Talking without speaking. So ironic. It certainly makes you think of where we are going in today's world, if we allow it to continue.

I never get tired of seeing this video. I never get tired of seeing others react to this video. I get more from this version everytime I watch it. Even Paul Simon told David Draiman that it's his song now. I've also listened to his acapella version of the song and that also gives me chills. Check that out too. This is the first song I heard by Disturbed and it made me a fan. That's something from someone who will be 60 in April. 😁

isn't it so ironic when you hear his version of this song written originally in the 60's that your reaction is at the end to be silent and take that in? breathe in, breathe out... masterpiece lyrics from Simon and Garfunkel, more of a masterpiece and epic rendition from Disturbed!

Simon and Garfunkle's version was a warning and David's version is the anger bc we didn't listen. I've watched many of these reaction videos and want to thank you for not pausing every few seconds to do talking points. It should be listened to all the way to get it's true effect...which is evident on your face by the ending.

I tear up every time I hear it and I've seen the reaction videos about 30x. This is what I get out of the video and the words paired with it. Remember this some we written in the 60s, the "Neon God" and "Neon Light", IMO, was referring to the television. Some new technology that made people sit in their house and stare at the tv instead of socializing. Musicians were probably affected because they weren't the only gig in town anymore. The song starts out with his voice very restrained, but he is going to tell you his story from a musicians POV., that is the beginning part, then as he tells the story you see instruments being pulled from the dirt, trees and even on fire. Musicians now alone, recognizing what no one cared about anymore, but the musicians still cared, they collected in instruments but the pain still hurts to see how far they've fallen. Looking across the waters and they people that used to watch them, now you are watching them on an island away. Sad and angry, the musicians rise up! They call it out and somehow there is a reconciliation and the people invite the musicians to come back, thus an abrupt "happy ending" where the two sides are reunited again. Today was a great time to redo this song, because now it could refer to the internet. "people talking but no voices are heard", "people hearing without listening", people wearing head/earphones. This is how I see it, maybe that is why I tear up every time I hear it.

Who was written back in the sixties and it has come to pass the song was giving me written way before its time but the songwriter and original singer Paul Simon likes to cover that Disturbed did he has it on his own playing list another good song that's a favorite of mine I don't know if you'll like it it has a strong message in it it's down with the sickness it would be good to listen to the long version because it really explains what the song is truly about it has a powerful message in it

Great, honest reaction! I suggest listening to the original so that you can see where David took it. It hits you in your soul. I'm very aware of the original, and people even Paul, said it was a warning that we didn't listen to. To me I see the tragedy of the disconnect, but I also see the resurrection of forgotten instruments/communication that are brought back to life and walked into the light. I see the people bringing the music/communication across the river to those who have lost their way. Which many of us can relate to and I think that's why almost all of us cry when we hear this version. Like I said, it hits your soul. Check out HOME FREE, and their cover of Man In Constant Sorrow. Acapella group, and they beatbox their instruments 100%. Then check out their other songs. They are phenomenal!
