The part of the lyrics when he sings "when your own have died, when there's no more pride, when your soul is frozen, is that enough" I get this feeling of sorrow and rage. Its like fighting against something that's caused you to suffer wholly unnecessary grief. I mean, I get that's the emotion the song is trying to convey.

@@exxor9108 i always got the impression that this song is calling out the American military industrial complex, this system that keeps working class Americans (especially those in rural areas) poor so that they have no choice but to join the army to escape poverty. Then these young men are sent overseas to fight on behalf of big oil and gas and the military industrial complex, and come home broken (whether it be physical injuries or PTSD) or they simply don't come home at all. I could be totally wrong but thats what i always gathered from the lyrics

2:34 You can just feel the pain and confusion from David’s voice. I wish he would do those types of vocals again but considering his vocal surgeries, probably not in order to reduce the risk of damaging his vocals.

I don’t know why but this song makes me think of my relationship with my girlfriend and the opposition from our moms. I love her and I feel like the feeling is mutual but our parents don’t want us together. Her mom is a bit more understanding but mine isn’t. This song basically how I feel all the time. Before I put facade as my favorite song by disturbed but this one beats it easily.

I can relate. Her mother never accepted me and successfully infected the relationship, but that does not excuse her to let her be brainwashed. 10 years I Made it last out of effort. But this song although it is not about this matter. The part of " countless sons and daughters have to die" hit me hard, in My case they were never born although they were planned to be in a few years. She killed everything from me last july 9th. Your case does not have to be like mine. Do not let fear guide your life, and do. Regret for not doing is worse than trying and falling. Stay strong

Deceiver, criminal,inside the fire, haunted and more. This album is fire and this song is on my top 5 favorite disturbed songs. Pretty hard to say which is the best album but to me those are Indestructible and Ten Thousand fists.
