Oh Yvonne…. Love this piece! It is an orangey red or least on camera it comes off that way. Then the distressing and black wax! You nailed it! How cute the inside is with the wood tone and red drawer. Great makeover ! 💛💛🌻💛💛

Thank you, Yvonne. I learned 2 new techniques today: 1. Wavery wax over black spraypaint helps give it an antique look versus a spraypainted look. 2. The dark wax first, then a clear wax to help blend the dark wax more evenly. I am so thrilled for these tips.

That is one of my favorite one you have done. I have a few pieces like that in my home. Red is one of my favorite colors. You certainly got a big A for that one 😁. Hugs

Your color choice was perfect for the primitive vision you had. The Sweet Pickins MP gave a beautiful crackled look. After watching you use black wax several times, I broke down and bought some. Thanks for turning me onto a fabulous product.

Yvonne, you did an amazing perfect match for the primitive color. Just Perfect! I had to cringe a bit knowing that this sweet looking desk was oak. I could see the tiger oak on the front but I also saw much paint had creeped into the grains of the wood. So you did the right thing in painting it n like I said, perfect. Adding the black wax truly brought that color out n I could even see some small crackle. The inside painting it black, smart idea. Only thing… did you forget to put the black wax on the little drawer inside? If so it was hard to see. Certainly there’s got to be someone who would fall in love with this sweet desk as you did wonders on it. Love it! ♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟🌟

OUTSTANDING !!! Red is a fav for me, and the gentle crazing of the paint is the perfect look...so hard to recreate because I've tried and failed !! I love your channel. You do so much work!! And I love your style. Ok I have a question. Why did you use shellac on the wood areas but poly on the painted areas? And does poly seal or is it simply for a topcoat? I hope you are able to get back with me. Thank you. You did beautiful projects today by the way.

I use shellac as a primer ( bond the paint) the poly on the black was a top coat. But on the outside of this piece I used wax a the finish top coat. Hope that helps
