    Hi, Karen! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain the differences between the two formulas in these pads. Also, a huge thanks for showing us how they perform when used in coloring books. This information is priceless! I've learned so much from watching your channel which has filled me with so much inspiration and unique techniques just over this past year. Because of your videos my coloring skills have improved tremendously. Have a great day and a lovely weekend!🖌🖍🎨💕

    I never thought of using either type of ink in books, so this was helpful in many ways. Thank you so much!

    I am so happy you did this video. I would have accidently ordered some of the Oxide thinking they were the Distressed. Thank you so much for giving info on both and how to use them. All your videos are so good. Thank you so much for your channel.

    I really like your videos. You have a ‘no nonsense style’ meaning just what we need to hear, not a lot of chit chat. You also have a pleasant tone and modulation in your voice quality. Calming. If you could only do a video for every thing i need to learn! Thanks for this lesson

    Thank you for this really informative video Karen, I have neither of the inks, though did have the distress inks in my amazon wish list for general use in my journals etc. I have re looked at these following your video and swapped these for the archival inks as I have read that these are water proof so would be better to use with stamps and then watercolour work on top. So this video was so very helpful and given me some extra knowledge Karen, thank you for sharing. :)

    Very interesting. I have used Tim holtz products for years and I use the oxide inks on tags and other artwork but can’t imagine using it in a colour book. Perhaps as you say you could use it on a background but sometimes the oxide reacts unexpectedly and you get a different result that what you attended. Thank you for this experiment and your colouring is amazing.

    Thank you again. These tutorials are awesome. I am going to pull out my inks and play with them. I did at the end see you color over the ink with your colored pencil. Is that how you always color your pages? Background first and then images? I probably have aked this question before. I just found you today and this is my fourth video of yours that I have watched today. Xoxo 😊

    Have you tried the memento inks? The ones shaped like a drop? I was watching 2 other colorists on KZread one of which has alot of them and uses them alot in her books. Anyway they have some really nice deep dark vibrant colors in the memento line. I think they are dye based and sit on top of the paper? I like alot of the distressed Ink colors, but feel alot of times I would like more deep dark bold colors. What are your thoughts on them? Thank you. 💜

    I went and bought some of the Ink's in the smaller size. Now, either they are Old or something is wrong with them, but I did not get the results you get. Luckily I only tried them on regular paper. As I rubbed them on the paper , they looked horrible. I don't know what I'm doing wrong !! I did not use any water. Also, it took A LOT of rubbing onto the pad to get ink on the pad. Now, I don't want to use them !!!! I'm so stressed out about it !!! LOL !!! Love your coloring honey !! Your Awesome !!! Hugs !! What do you use the most of ?? The ink or the Oxide ??

    Hi, Does one have to add water to the original distress ink or can we just leave it. I try so many mediums and ruin my pages. i use less expensive books to test, but I ruined a page from Romantic country using intense pan paint. I tried Neocolor II and it buckled the page in the Posh colouring book. I heard that a working fixative spray will turn chalk pastel white. I'm going crazy trying to figure this all out and spending money on products that aren't working out. Very new to adult colouring though.

    @@ZucchiniKitty Thanks for getting back to me. in your opinion, which medium would be easiest for me ? One that won't bleed through or buckle the page? If it's distress ink, what are the basic colours that I should purchase to make some nice simple backgrounds?

  • @ZucchiniKitty

    @ZucchiniKitty

    @@karinswartz3046 distress ink do not bleed though and do not buckle the page but do take some time to master... practice is a must. They react differently on the different pages in books... test page is also a must. basic colors would be the ones you like best, there is a big selection in the distress line. I like blues and purples for skies, greens for grass and trees. but backgrounds could be complimentary to the main part of the page...
