This camera was the first of the three cameras deployed for this storm. On the night of July 19, 2019, a cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms formed over the vicinity of Charlotte, NC and remained near stationary. The storms rapidly intensified and spread outward to where they were just a few miles from my location in Huntersville. Although we did not pick up a drop of rain, we were treated to an amazing lightning show, lasting nearly 3 hours. The storms however were responsible for dumping several inches of rain and strong winds in parts of Charlotte, resulting in flash flooding, and many power outages.
