@@teiruoh bobby is like this but different because distant horizons sorta lowers the detail using LODs while bobby increases render distance like vanilla minecraft just for servers.

Did you have to go to each chunk, or did they render it themselves? 2 years ago, last time I played Wynncraft, I used the same mod and I spent a few hours having to load each chunk individually so that the LOD's work work. Didn't have this when I played singleplayer, only on servers.

Lmao, the beta is still a bit imperfect, but I'd say a combo of both is best, cuz bobby has them close up details which are nice within like a 16 render distance

@@Olinus10 Bobby basically was DH for me for a good while on Wynncraft. Was able to load over 100 render distance smoothly with shaders. NGL, beautiful with the details and better lighting of complimentary.

@@Teradigit yea i usually go with bobby instead, but the 2.0 version with the complementary beta is pretty decent for those horizon chunks :p together with bobby for like 16-20 chunks would prob look best

Super stoked for when the mods properly release since I've been limited to shaders, DH, or a very buggy combination of them for so long. Also, what LoD range did you need for full map coverage?

340-440 is what I used with extreme detail and CPU load settings lmao :p I'm excited for the full release, it was still a bit buggy at times

me in 2016: playing on a 4 GB Intel laptop --> 4 render distance and 30 fps but with all my friends online me in 2024: playing on a 16gig RTX 3050 ti --> 100+ render distance using distant horizons ... but none of my friends are there... :((

Wynncraft deserves so much more. The map has had so much work put into it. Beats hypixel or anything else any day. The only Minecraft game that is on par with wynncraft is hypixel skyblock.

This video is so perfect, I forgot how much nostalgia wynncraft holds for me and how much I love that server 😊

While the cinematic and the choice of music are beautiful, I dont think I would want to play like this. Seeing the actual size of the world makes everything feel small, more like a model that an actual huge world. Like when when you cant see Almuj from Detlas it feels like a distant land because the terrain is so much different, but being able to see the entire desert makes you realize the distances are tiny compared to how far apart any two town are in real life. Or with the ocean, each island feels isolated when all you can see is water, and that's lost with everything visible. Or being able to see Ozoth's spire from literally anywhere in gavel reminds you its actually right over there. Don't get me wrong, your images are beautiful, I understand the gameplay reasons for keeping the world physically small, and the wynncraft map has an insane level of detail for how large it is, but imo extremely far render distances hurt immersion.

yea you're completely right, huge render distances makes the world feel cluttered cuz everything is visibly close. i prefer to play with like 30-50 cuz i like to see more, but everything while cool can be a bit much at times. one nice thing you could do is to mess with like DH detail settings and fog to like make it like seem far off with fog so its like in the peripherals and seems further away

Can't wait for my PC to turn into a nuke!

Up close it's visible less quality, so a mix would prob be best, but this is also beta so still quite buggy

so i have seen your profession guides and i really appreciate them, but one thing im struggeling with is how i use it, like what gear do i craft how do i put it together, whats good materials for me, stuff like that, i dont really see anyone talk about that stuff, and i got smacked by a level 10 player in a dual (im level 58....) and he used crafted gear so obviously i wanna learn how to do that aswell as im struggeling to do the content for my level...

yea, for crafted builds theyre always updating and making new ones. My guides have mainly focused on gear for leveling or just places to level up, but ill consider making some more like "useful/every day" type gear videos relating to profs :p

No, I believe it is incompatible at least for now

Distant horizons has never worked for me on Wynncraft, it works fine in single player but its almost like its disabled on Wynncraft. I can set my render distance to whatever and the chunks will still load and unload as I pass them.

The whole map has to be visited for it to render, and this beta version basically only works with a certain group of mods and settings

Distant Horizons 2.0 is actually quite nice for performance, so with our current modpack setup of performance mods and DH it ran quite smoothly :p

it's been like that because Wynncraft has maintained multiple version support, but as of this year they're moving officially to 1.16.5+
