How to dissolve the quartz off a gold nugget and keep the gold intact and in its raw form hidden in the quartz. This processes also works for dissolving any silica base material like ceramic, glass, and some aluminum's without using hydrofluoric acid.
This processes is for experienced users only.

    Lye or sodium hydroxide I found pure lye in red devil drain cleaner

    this is lye (sodium hydroxide) not acid the same thing you use to make soap. hydrofluoric acid will dissolve silica and those are your only two options

    @@WorldScienceTV Thanks for the reply . I understand that you used lye to dissolve the quarts, but near the end of the video you used 1 oz hydrochloric acid to clean/neutralize the nugget. I just wanted to verify . Also I noticed they solution was hot when you added the 1oz of hydrochloric acid , is this right. Thank you !

    You first off never pore acid into a base. At this point in the video there was almost no lye left in the liquid. Only the nugget in clean water heated in a well ventilated area with your lungs at a safe distance hot acid is bad very very bad. And yes about 1 ounce

    You can order 30% hydroperoxide and that'll do the job excellent

    Why u put it in a meter pot for? Lol u were turning ur solution into more salt than acid n ur inside without the water cleaning vapors , PEASE DONT TRY THIS AT HOME ESPECIALLY THIS WAY
