The lead up would be frustrating though. All the talk and hype and then the fight only lasts a short time in comparison. I would probably distance myself from social media and media too. Think about the fight when it's time to fight.

@@gmarounf7472 as a UFC fighter, though, you wouldn't have that option. Press conference after press conference, brown nosing the media, hyping it up for the fans; fighters have to put in a lot of work on the marketing side to help ensure they're one of the UFC's "favorites." If you're a good fighter but don't 'put in work' on this side of things, Ol' Dana Boi might come to the conclusion that, yeah, your fight W-L ratio is pretty good, but you're not helping bring in new eyes, new fans, etc. because you don't realize (or don't care) that fighters who understand how to bring in ratings, have a fan base, that they schmooze to regularly ("shout out to my fans!" when Bro Joegan interviews you after you win a fight, for example, makes fans feel like you keep them close to your heart), and have a persona that they keep up, that the media loves to shine the spotlight upon, even if most people hate that persona (ie. the Punkass Pauls, SiX-WhiNe, etc.), and so the UFC could slowly phase you out as they give more attention to the Conor McGregors of the sport.

That’s true, but I think you are missing the point. It is stupid to assault someone for words, and it will get you an assault charge, but someone who always talks shit is playing with fire. One day, they will say something to the wrong person, someone who truly doesn’t give a fuck, and the shit talker can end up badly, possibly permanently injured, or even dead. Sure, the attacker will catch a case, but that’s little consolation to someone who is permanently injured or in the ground.

I’ve been watching Nate since he was just a kid really like many of us have and it’s been great to watch him become a real gangster in the fight game. I remember when he was just Nicks little brother now he’s the man.

Nate does very well with the interview. Well spoken. Represents himself and he sport well.

He’s mumbled his way through interviews for years. Nothing new. No idea what will happen but he’s always had his boxing skills talked up by credible boxers. His stamina is second to none and he can take a punch. Not an easy payday for Jake.

These casuals don't know that Nate beat a professional boxer with a record of 17-1 (Marcus Davis) with just his hands to the point the ref was about to step in because the guy's eye and side of his head were so swollen it looked like he was growing a second head. Then at the end of the fight Diaz just took him down and put him to sleep after beating the dog shit out of him with boxing for 3 rounds for an easy win.
