Disneyland's The Spirit of Pocahontas: Fantasyland Theater 1995
In 1995, The Spirit of Pocahontas at Disneyland opened in the Fantasyland Theater. Deep in our vault, we found a recording of this show we video taped the same year. Closing in 1997, this show had a brief run.

I loved this show so much. It was so cool. I still have some of the leaves from the finale. Thanks for posting.

Glad you enjoyed it
Pocahontas is one of my favorites; I still have the window display pieces from the Disney Store when I was working there at the time. I remember seeing this show at both Disneyland and WDW. I probably have it on video tape as well, but I currently do not have a working Hi-8 cassette camera or player. So thank you for this wonderful upload.

I was 2 when I came to Disneyland and saw this! Just like I remembered
They skipped the part where Pocahontas introduces John Smith to Grandmother Willow!
The actor playing Werowance/Chief Powhatan reminds me of August Schellenberg!
Thanks for sharing!

@@vmipresents3039 Yes, I did! Thank you. Pocahontas is one of my favorite films esp. the score.
This should have ended in 1996 and become The Hunchback of Notre Dame: A Musical Adventure and then Animazement followed by Mickey's Detective School and Snow White: An Enchanting Musical!
Fantasyland Theater/Videopolis has some great shows in the 80's and 90's - Dick Tracy and the Diamond Doublecross, Beauty and the Beast Live, The Spirit of Pocahontas, Animazement.

I wish Pocahontas didn't get the negative views it seems to get nowadays 😔. This show proves it would have made a beautiful Broadway / West End production. I wish i could have been there in the 90s when this was on. 🍂
