Every review I've watched, unless they had media pass and didn't give opinion yet, has shared this event is not worth it. With all the experience Disney has doing these events why can't they get it right with long lines for food, characters, turning people thru for shows, etc. Appears they oversell tickets and could care less about the lines.

The first of anything isn't going to be a perfect show. No matter how big the company or how long they've done events, there's always going to be kinks to work out. I'm sure Disney is taking notes on all the feedback and they're going to tweak things in the future.

I doubt any more will sell out other than the ones that sold out BEFORE opening night. This was the first time I have ever felt that Disney stole money from me. There is no reason to attend this event. It was as satisfying as a carnival sideshow..

I would love to see more Muppets during Disney’s Holidays in Hollywood. I happen to be a big fan of the Muppets just like Walter from the 2011 movie.

I was thinking the exact same thing!! For $200, you shouldn't have to then pay for all the snacks. Definitely greed there.

This was the most upbeat review I’ve seen so far. But I’m still not encouraged that Disney put their best foot forward either. Too much pay to pay more for me. I’d go only to enjoy the short attraction lines with no other expectations.

You know this event was bad when even the influencers who were given free food, a special indoor location to meet characters and taste food and drink and handlers to allow them to butt in on lines at outdoor meet and greets could only bring themselves to give lukewarm reviews. Honestly from what I saw the marketing team should be fired, it was that bad! Resources in the wrong places that’s for sure!

I'm going in a few weeks, I'm just going to treat this like an after hours event with holiday vibes. I certainly want to see both shows but I'll be with my teenager so we dont need to do Brown Derby or Tip Top and I'm sure we will love the low wait times for a few rides in-between some snacks. I'm still excited.

I told my friend I wish they had advertised this as a themed after hours event, not a party. That's really the vibe.

If you really feel that way then I would try to get a refund through Disney, and if they're not helpful and you paid with your credit/bank card then you can always dispute the charges. This 😏"party" really looks lack luster to me, especially for the nearly $200 price tag. It's a couple shows, some live bands and a pretty meager laser/fireworks show. 👎

We're going to utilize the party as a way to enjoy ROTR and Slinkydog Dash as both rides were not open yet the last time we were there...everything else will be a bonus for us

You'd be better off buying lightning lane for ROTR and genie + for everything else.... would be much cheaper and you'll wait far less than you will during this event. There's still a virtual que for ROTR during this event.

From everything I've heard this is the worst event Disney has put together in a while. People waiting in line for an hour for a sugar cookie etc. Some reviews I've seen speak of feeling like Disney straight up stole their money. With prices going up for everyday services the idea of spending an extra $170 per person for my group for 4 hours of well.....nothing, doesn't sound great. Pass.

I’ve been binging these videos on Jollywood Nights and I really hope next week is less chaotic!

I was in Disney last week - and what Jollywood Nights meant was that the day it was scheduled the lines were way shorter - 20 minutes for ROR! I am a morning person so nighttime parties are a no-go for me. Rope dropping however...

I went and thought it was great honestly. Waited like 20 minutes for slinky dog and Toy Story mania, ten minutes for rockin roller coaster and runaway railway, virtual que for rotr, yummy cocktails and the Korean chicken funnel cake was fantastic!

The food looks decent! I'm looking forward to seeing how Disney addresses some of the crowding & line concerns for future event dates.

This was genuinely the worst thing i have ever done at Disney. We spoke to guest services a few days after and apparently they've had complaints in their thousands with the cast member remarking 'yeah I think they need the Magic Kingdom guys help and fast'. We ended up being refunded $358, we didn't request it we just wanted to express our total disappointment. I honestly can't warn people off this event enough it's woeful. Like Epcot food and wine with fancy lights... for $179, crazy!

Idk, but I heard that this event downright sucked. Virtual queues to get even into the brown derby, and food was raw apparently. Everything seemed disorganized. I will never go to it

Thanks for sharing this, if I could turn back time I wouldn’t purchase tickets for this event - I have major regrets but will just have to make the most of it 🙈 xx

Thanks for the info as always!! I am blessed to be going to both parties in a couple of weeks. Our sole goal is shorter lines. We just can't stand the lightening lane BS. We really miss the make in advance reservations they had with fast passes....among so many other things Disney has changed. But we're still Disney addicts. I totally get that it’s expensive, but the party starts at 8:30 and end at 12:30, you can just walk in 1.5 hours before the party starts at 7

I also went the first day and can agree with this video and every other one, NOT WORTH IT! This event needs major improvement!! Go to the Xmas party instead

They just announced an ice skating show for the 2024 Jollywood nights. I did hear that the 2023 was terrible but it was the first one. Hopefully they learned from their mistakes and will make improvements this year because I plan to go.

I assume the boats will still be running to the Epcot area hotels?? We are going on Saturday and Monday this upcoming week and staying at Beach Club.

I don't want them to take away what is free during the day, and put everything behind a paywall. Like Jollywood, Disney just is going for cheap, cheap, cheap these days.

I'll actually be trying Jollywood Nights on my arrival day (wish me luck cause I am driving 6 1/2 hours from like 5:30-6am to Riverside, relaxing in the hotel until my Boatwrights meal THEN getting dressed up to go to THIS and staying as long as I can). I already paid for the ticket some days ago so even with the more food-festival oriented manner and...limited characters and shows I'm still going. BUT to be honest I was drawn to the event more for the classical stylings of music and vibe one would get from this event...and also the sing-along NBC show and Powerline Max, at least. So even with the lack of festive content or overlays...I think it'll be up my alley.

You can go anytime of year. Our coldest weather typically comes in early January and we get the last of it (and any small freezes) in February. Northern Florida gets a bit colder near Georgia, but things don't typically close down. There are cold snaps here and there, but nothing really beyond jeans and hoodie weather. It's not uncommon to see people wearing shorts and flip flops to the parks in December. And the weather changes a lot, so you may have high 80's on Monday and then low 60's on Thurs and be back to 85 on Sat.

I once went to WDW in December, and it got down to the 30s at night. Doesn't happen very often though. I hadn't packed for that kind of weather

I never judge an event by the first night. Even the best planning can’t account for real life. Now if it’s the same midway through or to the end then I would agree it’s a money grab. Additionally the first night always has a lot of media and influencers. I’d bet more normal guests will spread out more between rides and food.

Agreed... I'm looking forward to seeing some regular guests (not influencers) attending the event in the next couple of weeks. We have tickets for the last night, and I'm hoping some of the big problems are addressed by then!

What about the Birria tacos?

I'm curious what the people who hated it were wanting from the event. We are going cause my daughter loves nightmare, the show looks great. It seems weird to me that a lot pf people sound like they paid that much just to pay more for food and they are sad they had to wait in line for said food. Great review AJ. Really helpful.

Why would you pay $200 for waiting in a line for food? Go to the Minnesota state fair if you want that experience, you'll enjoy it and it doesn't cost you $200.

Come see cosplay Max who, FWIW, was a daytime meet and greet earlier in the year at HS.

Waste of money for what the crowd levels are and all the lines. Typical Disney these days.

I’m sure it was pretty rushed considering there was only one merch item. Can’t wait to see how it grows

Jollywood Nights tickets (average) $169 with entry at 7:00. Hollywood Studios After Hours in 2024 = $175 also with entry at 7:00. Yes, with After Hours you get free snacks which is a nice perk. I am not sure why people are calling this a rip off. If you choose to spend all night in line for a cookie, that's on you. If you treat this as an After Hours event with holiday vibes and some cute shows...I honestly don't see the problem. For APs, maybe this seems super expensive because you can ride rides any time "for free" (prepaid). If you are a regular day guest purchasing an event ticket in lieu of a park ticket, it's not that different.

I find that those that actually say they hate Disney and their events are always saying what should be offered. Any event the first couple days or last couple days are crazy insane. That FOMO is real to a lot of folks. Because of that analysis during those days needs to be tempered expectations. Disney is making shift for business reasons. Lots of people feel entitled to everything forever at discount price only catering to their personal wants. Thing is if you feel that way you should be willing to pay for the exclusivity. Those that are appreciative of the parks, adjust in order to make the best of it. Disney is learning and growing as it always does. Capitalism is what the naysayers are upset with. If you have grown to not enjoy Disney any longer then find other parks to attend. Disney is a really good vacation trip. I have yet to see anyone forced to go or do anything by Disney.
