I think I’m most interested to get your reactions to Joyland. I definitely enjoyed it when I read it. I did NOT expect to see mistakes were made here. It is one of my favourite romance books purely because of how unhinged and entertaining it is. I could talk for HOURS about all of the nonsense (lovingly) that goes on in that book!

I am hugely impressed with the level of organisation and parameters that make up your reading choices. My system is finishing a book, looking at my shelf/kindle library and going, “meh, I’m kinda in the mood for that one”. Puts me to shame. 😂🐿️

I read it and was a bit confused so I watched the first season of the TV show and it followed it pretty much exactly so it was really helpful to continue on reading the series. 🐿

I’ve missed you so so much! I think about our bookclub all the time! So I just finished it and audio was not the way to go. I can tell it was a good book but I’m not smart enough for it. Good to know there is a show I can watch. Hahaha 💕💕

But, I feel sorry for your husband when he asks you what do you have planned for dinner and 20 minutes later you're rolling dice and checking stickers and He's like....what is for dinner! I didn't find Joyland to be all that interesting, so hopefully you enjoy it more than I did. (Also, there's a band called mewithoutYou that's done some music that I've enjoyed over the years, though I'm sure they have no connection to that book!)

@@onceuponabookishsteph Joyland does have a bit of a cult following on the Stephen King subreddit. I think some people are disappointed in it because they think it’s going to have a lot more horror / thriller elements than it does. It is mostly a sweet coming of age tale, and just has a bit of creepiness sprinkled in. ❤

I love this idea!!! Scar is my favorite villian. I’m curious how you would do tbr for this villian! I’m july I don’t know what I’m planning on doing my tbr
