Wow...I'm turning 48 this year, and I clearly remember watching all 3 of these on tv in the early 80s. I remember loving them all.

Strongest Man in the World was my childhood favorite 🤓👌🏽 nowadays more movies than not sadly seem to copy story telling of the more successful films of the past in some form or another originality is very hard to come by nowadays. Movie makers are becoming REDUNDANTLY relaxed regarding original content.

I just turned 59, and I saw all of these on Disney's tv shows, not at the theater, but I do remember seeing another Kurt Russell film, "The Barefoot Executive" (which also had Joe Flynn in the cast), at a drive-in theater when I was 5 or 6. I have all 3 of these films, along w/ another film that had Kurt Russell as a co-star, from 1968 called "The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit" (That one starred Dean Jones, another frequent Disney lead) in a 4-film Disney collection. At the end of "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes", apparently Medfield didn't have a financial crisis, as Dean Higgins wanted to put the prize money in a Savings & Loan bank (apparently long before the 1980s S&L failures). However in the next film, "Now You See Him", the college was about to go bankrupt and faced being bought out by A.J. Arno, who wanted to make it a casino resort. Then Arno, who I thought was into bigger stuff than this, steals the invisible formula & uses it to burglarize a bank. The college was then going broke again in "Strongest Man", and Higgins needs to win that prize just to keep the school in business & himself in his job. The high school atmosphere was very apparent in "Strongest Man", as Dean Higgins is himself reprimanding a student for eating in class in "Room 603", as though the college is all located in a single building. Dexter Riley (spelled Reilly in the 1st film) did have 1 consistent friend in all 3 movies, Richard Schuyler, played by Michael McGreevey. McGreevey had appeared w/ Billy Mumy in a 1962 made for Disney movie called "Sammy, the Way-Out Seal", and he had a smaller role in "The Shaggy D.A.", also set in Medfield, USA (no college this time though) and again starring Dean Jones. Kurt Russell also had a smaller co-star role in 1968's "The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band", where his future partner, Goldie Hawn, had a small part as a dancer. You can see their age difference here, as he was still a teen but she was in her 20s.

I know I'm late to the game, but I loved "the computer wore tennis shoes" as a kid. I saw it in the movie theater. It was the best of the three and I still love to watch it today. The others, I agree, are really the same movies. Remember these movies were made for kids. I think most kid's shows use the same plot over and over again and seem to forget what happened before.

I grew up watching these movies back when they were released on VHS. Computer Wore Tennis Shoes is my personal favorite for having some unique sound effects. I would consider myself one of the fewest big fans of said film because I have both a VHS and DVD copy of the movie. I never knew there was a third film in the series, Now You See Him, Now You Don't. I'll check it out and come back to tell you my thoughts on that.

There was no plan for a trilogy, the first film was very succesfull and the second one too, so they went ahead with the third one. If Joe Flynn aka " Dean Higgins " had not passed away in 1974 from drowning, I am sure the films would have kept on coming !!! Do YOUR RESEARCH !!!!. Disney made many, many millions off these movies !!!

The Strongest Man In The World was the last G movie I saw before I saw Jaws. BTW the ven diagram comment was I rolling. You actually believe that gen X can’t use the internet. The kids who bought SW toys, created punk rock, became filmmakers and created the technology you use today don’t know how to use the internet?🙄

Btw these are the films Lucas was analyzing when he came up with Star Wars, not for story, but box office as he was aiming SW to the kids that where flocking to these films. They all cost around 10 mil and always made around 20 mil and that was his financial goal.
