Hector from Coco should have gotten a spot. His death caused three generations of Riveras to turn their backs on music (much like King Triton.) What really seals the deal is that Imelda thought Hector abandoned them. She didn't know he was dead until Miguel showed up in the land of the dead.

It wasn't really death, he only died because Ernesto betrayed him by killing him. And in the land of the dead he didn't really die but was fading and almost forgotten by his own daughter, it's still hard for me to watch him getting weaker and almost being forgotten and dying but your right it should have been in the list

She looked just like her daughter, Ariel. That's why Triton is so protective of her the most, because she resembles his late wife and doesn't want the same thing to happen to her just like what had happened to her mother

@@scotttrail522 it wasn’t breaking her neck that killed her. i don’t think she even broke her neck. she hit her head on the pointy part of the stairs and it cracked her skull open. there was even blood on the stairs. u can realistically die that way.

Honestly, I think Hector should've been mentioned on this list.(And yes, he did say he was counting Pixar characters.) But overall, I did enjoy this video.Keep up the good work!😥👍

Héctor for sure, but I'm not sure about Coco. Of course death is sad, but not as much when the person lived a long and mostly happy life. Aside from her father's death, Coco seemed to have a great life. She married a good man, had two daughters who loved her dearly, and died at an old age to be reunited with the rest of her family. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I wasn't as sad about Coco's death as I was with the other Disney tragedies.

What hurts most about Mufasa’s death is that it was his own brother who killed him. Shows that even family members can turn on each other and commit atrocities towards one another, be it in murder, abuse, implanting blame and insecurities, neglect, or manipulation with lies and making themselves the only person one can rely on.

I think the most cruel death was quasimodo's mother because she was trying to protect but Frollo just killed without a second thought and just so mercilessly killed her, though it did comeback at Frollo because he would be damned for that.

That fact that James had a distinguished service cross in WWI shows that he must’ve done something very brave that saved lives, as during the world wars segregation and bigotry were rampant. For an African American soldier to receive such a high honor in WWI shows that he did something that was above and beyond the call of duty that made his officers look past the segregation and give him the acknowledgment and honors he deserved.

I agree with Mufasa’s death being the most tragic and heartbreaking. Simba would be scarred after watching his uncle betray him and killing his dad by throwing him down to the wildebeests while they trampled him. Then putting the blame on them made him even more depressed and sad. Then he returns home after his dad’s ghost encourages him to. His so called uncle before he’s about to kill him, reveals the truth that he did it. In the end, Scar deserved to be eaten alive by the hyenas while burning. Killing off a family member just so you can seize control of the throne is heartless.

In the original story he was adopted by Frollo and I don't think Quasimodo was Romani. They may have been going for him being adopted by the Romani. So Quasimodo would have been adopted twice in this version.

There was no proof either of the men on the boat were Quasimodo’s dad his father could’ve been a Frenchman. Keeping him inside for years could affect his skin tone and red hair’s a recessive trait so it’s rare for most anyone to get it if they don’t have two red haired parents.

Ahhhh Flora Disney, the reason why so many Disney characters are parentless. Disney expressed his guilt and grief over his mothers death. She died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a new house Walt had bought for her. He felt personally responsible and expressed his guilt through his films. It’s pretty tragic, what makes it the saddest is that it’s all true.

A good soldier never leaves a man behind.

What always got me was that on a level, Mufasa really did care about his whole family including his younger brother. Only to have his brother murder him. Mufasa might have made it even without Scar's help if Scar hadn't thrown him off the cliff

I believe it's unquestionable that Mufasa and Queen Athena's deaths are some of the saddest in Disney history.

Yeah, the midquel covered that aspect but I think he was just covering the original, which had a large chunk of time missing. Heck, let's not forget how devastated the Great Prince was by her passing. I love the midquel for expanding on his character. I grew up watching Bambi on VHS (showing my age here). The Great Prince actually had more of an impact on me than Mother's death. I was pretty young at the time so I had no concept of death in which to appreciate what had gone down when she was shot. Thanks to the Prince, I've always wanted to see a stag with large antlers like that and it was only years later when I realized that his antlers were designed to look like a crown.

I'm going to take a wild guess that Mufasa will take the gold of saddest death.

Mufasa and Bambi’s mother was very sad for me

I would say Hector should be on this list, although low tier, because in the end everything gets resolved and in death he does get reunited with his daughter Coco after all, which is more closure than ány Disney character could ask for when it comes to dead parents. But the fact that his death was so incredibly affecting in the longrun for so many generations is something to take into account. Had this man not been murdered he would have had a chance to return home, make amends with his family and who knows how different things could have been instead of the hate festered in the Rivera's for him.

12:30 it's still pretty shocking to me that in Tarzan, they just show his born parent's lifeless bodies on the floor as they are surrounded by bloody paw prints. Tarzan really pulled no punches as with this, Kerchak, and Clayton, the movie really know how to handle character deaths.

Mufasa's death hurt me so much it made me realise that I've only got a certain amount of time with my parents so I make all of time with them memorable

I also think Mufasa is the saddest/brutal death too, but for not just the reasons he pointed out, but another reason was when Scar was seen playing with a skull in the cave. That skull was a lion skull, and it is fact that lions do eat their own kind after they died. Meaning......Scar could have eaten his own brother's dead body!!!

i would have definitely put tiana's dad's death higher. for some reason it makes me cry every time i watch the movie back knowing how much it impacted her and their interaction at the very beginning was so wholesome

In the original "Big Hero 6" comics, Tadashi Hamada was Hiro's father instead of his brother. Aunt Cass was Hiro's mom as well. In the Disney version, Tadashi (now the brother) is killed in a fire caused by Callaghan (Yokai).

I will always remember Simba's quiet "Help" after crying for help. That part will never not make me cry 😢

Fact: James from the Princess and the Frog was likely serving with the French. The French had a division of all Black American soldiers called the Harlem Hellfighters. These were black Americans who wanted to fight overseas but were not allowed to do so because of the Jim Crow laws that were in place. It's sadder than simbas because she was dying in front of littlefoot when simba didn't with Mufasa, She was killed by Shartooth, the t-rex and it's just such a sad moment that even littlefoot gets scared for a very long time after her death... I can't think of a sadder parent death than that.

I also agree with this list too. It makes me think of my mom who sadly passed away in 2016 at the age of 67 of a brain stroke.

Minor point about Tiana's father: You class being shot with a gun as a less horrific way to die than being stabbed (or shot with an arrow), but may I remind you that in World War One, poison gas was very much a thing. You missed Snow White's father. Like Cinderella's father, he remarried so that Snow White would have a mother figure. However, as bad as Lady Tremaine and her daughters were, at least they didn't actively try to murder Cinderella and make her death their absolute top priority.

Well……we never see Snow White’s pa, and there’s no proof he’s dead. The book never says he died. Yes, I know in the original fairy tale he marries the evil queen, and then dies of some illness after he married her.

@@ChibiProwl I thought that it was explicitly stated at the beginning of the movie that he did die. And if it wasn’t, I think we can reach that logical conclusion through common sense, because if he were still alive, he would’ve never allowed the queen to do any of the things she did in the movie.
