We take you to a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding's open day and menu tasting in today's video at Walt Disney World.
Disney Fairy Tale Wedding's is the division of Disney in charge of making your special day come true and whilst it may be difficult to plan a Disney Wedding (and expensive) they do hold open days so you can see a little bit of what they have to offer.
As part of the Disney Fairy Tale Wedding's open day you're able to visit Franck's Studio, this is where they have a number of items to give you inspiration for your Disney Wedding, you'll see dresses, replica cakes, table centre pieces, decor and all kinds of other items. Franck's Studio is located at Disney's Grand Floridan Resort and Spa.
Another aspect of the open day is Disney's Wedding Pavilion, this is the highlight and dream of many Disney Wedding's outside of the theme parks themselves. The Wedding Pavilion is located on it's own island in Seven Seas Lagoon, with view overlooking the lake and onto the Magic Kingdom, through the main magnification window at the alter you have a view of Cinderella Castle, perfect for those special wedding photos.
We also give you guys a short look into a couple of the Grand Floridan Ballrooms at the Grand Floridian Convention Center. Whilst these may look quite bare in the video, they're often made up to be whatever you would like them to be, they're a blank canvas for you to work with and full customisable to seat as many guests as you'd like.
Finally as part of the wedding planning process you have the opportunity to be invited along to a menu tasting, this is also typically held at the Grand Floridian although ours was moved to Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Convention Center. The concept is still exactly the same. This is invite only and you have to be a couple of months out from your big day to receive an invite.
At the menu tasting we had the opportunity to try a number of dishes from the current 2022/2023 menu selection, they laid out a number of small starter options which included Cheeseburger Spring rolls, a staple of the Magic Kingdom, there was a selection of main courses including vegetarian/vegan options. You had what they dub the margarita station, where you can customise mac & cheese in margarita glasses with toppings.
Finally you had the dessert station, this offered a selection of the possibilities although you can choose many other items, one of the current offerings for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World is the Nitro Station, this involves pouring nitros oxide onto chocolate so you can smash it which is really cool! We also had Earidescent Churro's, Dole Whip's and Mickey Waffles!
You also have the opportunity to see a small number of decorative items including table linens, place cards, menu's etc as well as speak to the bakery team and chef's to customise as much as you want!
