THANK YOU!! I bought a standard founder’s edition in January on the switch and have been playing ever since, I’ve been tempted lately to try and upgrade to the ultimate edition so I can access the dress and some of the items. I’ve seen people do this so they can get all the exclusive items in one game but I didn’t personally know how to do this without losing my save! I was hoping MrStarInSky would describe how to double up on game editions so you can have everything in one game but now I know that Switch players can’t do this. I’m glad I know now but I’m quite sad because I wasn’t in a position to get the ultimate edition, back in January, but I am now… and I still can’t 🥲 Thank you for clarifying this 🫶🏼

I bought all editions for the game. So does that mean I can’t upgrade it. Because what I thought was said is if you bought all you was getting the the gold edition for free the only we would pay for is the rift in time

For those who like I do, live in a country where Black Friday doesn't happen, the game still goes on offer every now and then. Cartridges for the Switch allows you to play games without necessarily needing Internet, which is great. I already have the standard edition for DDLV so I am just waiting for expansion.

So helpful! I got the ultimate founders pack, so knowing I get the pet and clothing with just the expansion really solved which to get.

Just bought the Founders Ultimate Edition for 40% off during Black Friday. Funny thing is the Founders Deluxe Edition didn't go on Sale, so during Black Friday Ultimate was cheaper than Deluxe, in my Country Atleast.

Nintendo switch cartridges are tiny but they exist. Most of the switch games we have are cartridges. The cozy edition should have came with a cartridge for the price though.

When the game first came out I bought the standard for 30 bucks then now just 2 weeks ago I bought the ultimate package for $49 bucks on sale on steam 😮

Originally, I wanted the Ultimate edition on switch, but I didn't realize when I was looking up the game that I had to look up the editions in order to get them. It didn't give me the other options when I looked up the game. So I ended up buying standard editon on accident. I emailed the game developers if they could make it possible for some who can't buy another edition like switch to be able to get them before the deadline, but they said no. I'm hoping with multiplayer if it'll be possible to buy them from others Scrooge shops by talking to Scrooge and buying furniture and outfits from him.

for the croc and the headband sadly you dont get those i got the game 9 days after release (2 days after the 1 week deadline) and did not get them T-T

Yeah, my animal crossing game has a cartridge but my cozy edition didn't. But the box has the switch logo and stuff which is a nice keepsake.

Actually if you buy on another platform but dont claim the mail until you are on another platform you get the moonstone where you claimed them. Just heard someone do that with Cozy Edition!

I have played DDV since day one. If you buy the game, buy PC standard addition. Two reasons. It's less buggy on PC, and there's more than enough pets, furniture, and clothes in the game to collect.

I have a question! When I bought this game in 2022 I’m pretty sure there was only one option at the time. Now I want the Ultimate edition because of all of those cool items, but my switch won’t let me get those other versions.. am I doing something wrong?

Question: While I did not start playing when the game first came out, I have been playing for a long time. I bought the Ultimate Edition and have noticed that the Ultimate Edition package has changed since I first bought it. Namely, the addition of the Royal Fox and the clock (I am so wanting it). These items were not part of the Ultimate Edition when I purchased mine, and the items were not pushed down to me through mail (if they were supposed to be). Plus there are a couple of outfits and furniture items that are new to the package. Plus, I cannot repurchase to get the items as I only have one Switch...Nintendo Shop says I already own it...anyone else notice this? Did the makers think those of us who have been playing for a real long time wouldn't notice this? Just wondering...kind of unfair for those who bought the original package...just saying...

Apparently, even if you had to restart your game, you can't get the companion again [though you can get the ears]

Yep you can get a little cartridge for the Switch, but pretty much everything is digital now lol! I think at least 50% of the games on my Switch are digital lol, Lego tends to do physical cartridges I've found lol! Ohh so I got the standard edition with Gamepass, as I have those items. So that means that's a founders edition! 🤔 Huh I didn't know that. I only wanted the turtle from Deluxe so I didn't splurge when first announced last year, but now I do like that TV and cabinet lol! Ohh yeah the first week bonus stuff, I do have that, love the crocodile! 😍 It's now £33.49 on Gamepass for me in the UK and the moonstones would be worth it, I'll see if I still have the spare money after Christmas shopping lol! That would give me safety if it goes off Gamepass too, which is my worry. It does keep a lot of the games that have ongoing content though, i.e. Forza 5 and No Man's Sky. It would help if Xbox confirmed one way or another though lol! It wasn't in the going off Gamepass last announcement though. Oh wow the ultimate is actually only £46.79 for 20k moonstones, very tempted lol! Hmm all those new versions, it's not showing me the price in UK pounds at all, just says coming soon on their website 🤔 but if $70 is American dollars, that's nearly £60 so maybe better to get that? Oh nope it's not, you explained that in a very clear way, as I was almost tempted by those items, thanks! 😊 I know I don't want the cozy edition as I don't really deal with physical options and yeah 1 of 6 is very silly for the posters, not worth the funds for it IMO lol. I play on Switch with the Ultimate edition and bought another ultimate edition recently for PC/Steam. When I went to play on PC, I had to make a new account with a new email address. That wasn't my intention. If I take my User ID from the Switch and enter it on the PC edition, will I then be linked with the cloud under my original Switch account?

@pa5666 I know next to nothing about any of this stuff, but according to my son (who knows everything, LOL), unfortunately for the Switch, when the game is a download only, not a physical disc, you can only re-download the version you purchased, there's no way to purchase two separate download versions on the same account/Switch. He could be wrong (even though he really does know his gamer stuff--I'm hoping he's wrong!), so if you find out differently, I'd love to know about it. I was just asking him about it myself because I thought I had bought the Ultimate edition, but I bought the game last year and just now started playing it, so I couldn't remember for sure. It appears I got the Standard one, because I didn't get the ball gown or the royal ballroom furniture or any of that stuff. Which is a serious bummer. Now I can only hope those items will be available in Scrooge's shop eventually, because I really want them! The only other option is to buy a second Switch and get a second game that way, with a new account and the whole deal, but even for me (and I am PLENTY extra enough to consider it), that seems like overkill. And a waste of money. But those items are pretty cool. *sigh*

This is from DDLV official website. Purchases of the Expansion Pass are platform-specific, meaning that players should ensure they purchase the pass for their primary platform to ensure they are able to easily access all the content it has to offer. For Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift In Time, players will only be able to access Eternity Isle - the new world introduced in this expansion - on the platform they have bought the Expansion Pass for. Some other content from the expansion - including use of the new Royal Tool, Dreamlight Duties, items, characters and more - can still be enjoyed by Expansion Pass owners on other platforms where they own the game but not the Expansion Pass.

WRONG! The best deal is the Ultimate edition and then purchasing and adding all upcomming DLC's. Amyone who is late in purchasing any of the Founder's Edition are pretty much stuck with buying the Gold edition, which includes the first DLC "A Rift in Time". The only great choice, is the Ultimate edition, but once it's no longer available, the only good choice will be the Gold edition. It's as simple as that!

Y’all I’m gonna die! ☠️ (Ok not really) 🙃 I dropped my switch in the frikin sink! 😢 I grabbed it as soon as it happened (took everything off & out of it & dried it off & out) but alas it wouldn’t turn on. That happened Mon night, tech Tues in the wee hrs of the AM, it’s like the console jumped from my hand. I’ve got it in a shoe box rn w/all of the silica gel packets I could find (7) but I’m not certain that this will work; it’s based off of peeps who’ve dropped theirs in water & ofc theirs all turned back on the 3rd day. I can’t afford another switch, unless they go on major sale. 🥺 all that time & $$ spent on & in DDV alone, is just gone. 😢🤬😭🫥 I’m sorry for bringing my mess of sadness to your comment section @Mrstarinsky but Idk what (if any) to do & truly appreciate y’all’s advice &/or guidance & anyone else’s who decides to read this. ~Alli🥹

I do know that for phones it works putting it in dry rice. Here's hoping you can get it saved. Did you buy the replacement insurance offered to Switch online members? I think it covered accidental drowning...

I'm sorry for you! But don't try to turn it on! Water and electricity are not good friends! The risk is a bigger intern damage! If it was completely drown, let it dry for a whole week before trying to turn it on. If there's a game and /or SD card, remove them. If those are dry when you take them out, it's a good sign water hasn't gone too far. If they are, let the openings open and check if water comes out from them. If there is any water sign, don't try to turn the switch on! It might be saved with patience if you were quick to remove it from the water! If after a whole week without touching it it's still not working, try some repair shops, they might be able to repair it for cheap or at least tell you if it's completely broken. Good luck!

Omg, that stinks :( Yeah, the only thing I can think of is the rice method. My Switch screen also started acting all weird and it happened out of no where while I was playing on it. Luckily docked, the screen is normal. I have to see if I can send it into Nintendo but I think the fee will be about $100. Totally sucks since it wasn't my fault, but cheaper than buying a new one. I also have a Switch Lite but I hate playing on it ;_;
