THANKS SO MUCH for uploading this. I actually have a HQ 480p DVD Recording of the special but the DVD-Rs used were some cheap china ones that barely works :( If anyone has any idea on how to rescue the data let me know (though I'm sure the data is "rotted").

I seen High School Musical 2 on Disney+ best summer sequel ever.

I was there at that time and in retrospect, changed everything for Disney Channel! They started the trend with making musical movies that aired during the summer. Camp Rock 1&2, Teen Beach Movie 1&2, which made fun of summer musical movies, Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension, Cheetah Girls One World, tho you could argue they already did that the previous movie, Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, Let It Shine, the Descendants Trilogy and just last year with Zombies 3! In retrospect, this night was a huge deal beyond just High School Musical as they premiered Phineas and Ferb which would go on to be arguably the most defining Disney Channel cartoon next to Kim Possible and Gravity Falls! The premiere of the show and the Hannah Montana episode are the second and third highest rated broadcasted episodes in the history of the channel. With the Phineas and Ferb premiere tied with That's So Raven's Country Cousins episode for most views! Looking at all these promos wasn't just a blast from the past but a great reminder of how far all of these projects have come since this date! I've also noticed how Kenny Ortega combined dancing with sports in the HSM movies! I'd love to see him make an ESPN special where he does this with other sports!🤣

i cannot believe this was 15 years ago man do i feel old as fuck i remember this night like it was yesterday it was actually the 1st day of school (yeah disney airing a summer movie when kids were going back to school was very smart 🙄) and everyone in my class was annoyed by me counting down all day until the premiere of the movie lol and of course the most popular hannah montana episode aired right before hsm2 and was immediately OBSESSED with it to the point where i knew the whole script lol who knew this would go down in history for being the highest rated disney movie in television history with 17 MILLION VIEWERS makes alot of sense why it went to theaters a year later

Dude this is so weird, I am watching the commercials from August 17th, 2007 on August 17th, 2020. It is so weird, but awesome happy anniversary high school musical 2, and phineas and ferb.

That's actually what I did when I watched Rugrats' All Growed Up special because I was a toddler when it released and don't remember if I did watch it and also cuz I wasn't allowed to watch it at the time. That was Nickelodeon's highest rated broadcast! And this video was recorded during Disney Channel's highest rated broadcast!
