    I have the W1 twindos that I bought in November, so it's barley 3 months old. Went down to put in a wash and it beeped F138. No water on the floor until I tilted it, a few cups of slightly suddy water came out. Not acceptable. I faffed fixing my 12 year old ecobubble and couldn't be asked anymore, but looks like I'm going to have to try and find out if there is an issue with hopefully a loose hose or something easily repairable and non-concerning. Really not happy at all, was sold on the "tested for 20 years of use" and I barley get 3 months without a concerning issue from a £1000+ machine. I also never received my cashback from Miele. Kind of disgusting to be honest. I'm lucky as I was intending on getting a Miele dryer and dishwasher, but no thanks! I will be looking elsewhere.

    Hii, Thank you for your information. Could you please let me know how did you remove the top cover . That was not explained. Also the front load cover. I am looking for information to shift my washing machine from one tiny room to another room. I hope washing machine does not get spoiled if I only remove the washing machine front cover and the top load because door is very narrow.Washing machine model is Miele W 4146 Softronic.

    a break of Miele Drum Spider ( between the bearing and its support )

  • @disoneleg
    @disoneleg3 жыл бұрын

    As far as I know Miele have changed the design of the spider since that machine was made, they have returned to using a steel spider at the back of the inner drum instead of the alloy type seen here. If you look at the more recent machines the pattern/design when you look into the drum is different, the centre has a hexagonal shaped nut pattern.

    That's not an alloy spider. No idea where you got that. It's a cast iron spider. Used for durability and counter weighting as well. Miele has NEVER made a machine with steel or aluminium spiders. Full stop. Asko is also the only manufacturer to use stainless steel spiders which DO NOT corrode like aluminium, which is what 99% of other machines use. Miele and Asko are always the only two brands that use stainless steel inner and outer tubs. No one else does.

    @@JIMDP25 all Mieles have a cast iron spider. Every single model regardless of price. No idea where these people are getting steel or aluminium or any other alloy. It's 110% cast iron spider for durability and counter weights.

    You can also see the CAST IRON counterweights on the front of the tub as well. Never in history has Miele used aluminium or steel in their spiders or counterweights. Others use aluminium spider which corrodes easily and also a plastic or polymer outter drum/suds container. And others use concrete counterweights on the front which crumble and break apart over time.

    On my W1, there are two screws under white caps at each side of the lid. Pop out the lids with a fine flathead driver. Screwing these anti-clockwise slowly moves a catch apart inside, on that side of the lid. As you screw, keep trying to lift the lid. When the screw is halfway out, the lid will lift free on that side. Be careful not to totally unscrew it. Repeat on other side and lift the lid away.
