Dishonored Death of the Outsider - Mightier than the Sword Trophy / Achievement Guide - Shoot a guard in the head with a fountain pen [Bronze / 20G]
Mission 2
This can be done as early as mission 2 (but it also works in missions 3 & 4).
At the start of mission 2, go to the optional objective "review the contracts". It is marked automatically and leads you to the black market. From the black market you must buy the voltaic gun upgrade called "makeshift bolt". It costs 500 coins!

After buying the upgrade, head to the apartments above the black market. On the top floor there's an apartment at the end of the hallway with a fountain pen near a bed. Shoot off all your voltaic gun ammo, then pick up the pen. Head back downstairs and kill a guard (green uniform) with a hit in the head. It has to be a headshot. The guards in red uniforms have a helmet, it's better to shoot the weak ones in green uniform.

I think my game is glitched because even with the upgrade, and to see with foresight that the pen is considered voltaic shot, I can't pick them up. Have tried level 2, 3, 4. No dice.
Are there any other missions besides 2? I'm on 3 now and just bought this upgrade. I wonder if that pen 🖊 will still be on the desk

Did you shoot off your other ammo like I did? Pick up the pen after you have zero ammo.
Do you need to pick up a blueprint from somewhere ?

death of the outsider do not need find any blueprint , all can buy in black store
It has to be a killshot. If you hit the guard in the head but they don't die, it won't count.
Doesn't trigger for me.
No use in wasting your shots since the pen will be your next shot

It didn't work for me this way. I had to waste all the normal shots, pick up the pen and only then the trophy popped up. Tried it at least 5 times without wasting and no trophy.

It's pretty fantastic for trophies / achievements. Easy 5h platinum / 1000 gamerscore. The game is short but has the same Triple-A production quality as previous Dishonord games. Even if you never played those games, it's a good one to get started with (at low cost).

Absolutely. People have said it has about 10-12 hours of gameplay, but I've been playing for 18 hours so far and I'm only in the middle of mission 3. (I like to take my sweet time and slowly/heavily explore). You definitely need to have played the other (at least Dishonored 2 is mandatory) Dishonored games or the storyline of Death of the Outsider is going to fly over your head and you won't really understand what's going on. I give it 10/10.

Among all the games of dishonored, I really liked this one over dishonored 2 as the game system feels better. Also stealth seems easier to adapt in this game. Must buy from my side
So the pen is mightier than voltaic shot and voltaic shot is mightier than sword hahaha
