Yeah, Item World grind was always such a pointless time sink. As much as Disgaea is a grind game, Item World and its like are rubbing your nose in the fact that there's probably better ways to spend your life.

Don't forget that you can just press L2 to have your cursor directly on a gate and not looking for it manually 🙂 It's a new QoL in this episode ( so with a runner build + teleport + R2 you can run the IW VERY fast )

@@Primalliquid92 This has actually been a thing since Disgaea 1, I believe. At the very least on the PSP version, but I believe PS2 as well. If you are playing the enhanced PSP version, it's important to remember the PSP did not have an L2 or R2, so they used the square key in conjunction with L1/R1 to activate different features that couldn't be mapped otherwise. This is also true for the PC ports. Specifically one of these button combinations sorts through units, and if you don't have any out it will move your pointer to the portal.

Just got it recently and started going through the item world. It seems the stat gains for going through it have been nerfed drastically. I just took some nerd glasses through 10 floors, got 103 levels and all i got was like a 30 point HIT gain. Very confused what's happening. Even in 5 you could get a thimble to almost a 1000 ATK. Am i missing something?

OK there's a lot in this item world that makes it have a lot more going on in it and I'm reminded of why I don't really touch item world all that much. Look to make a long story short the last time I touched it fully was when I played Disgaea 2....... Which was a stupid idea because my characters were not prepared for those runs at all and because of that I'm scared to even touch an item world in any of the games. I only did it in 5 because I was a bit more prepared and it wasn't that much of a bit of a hassle due to only going 10 floors. 6 I never touched the item world at all so maybe it'll be the same thing for 7 I don't know. Still a very nice detailed description of the new item world Liquid!

i have to be honest, by skipping the item worlds you're pretty much missing 70% of the game content as it means you pretty much dont do any postgame at all

@@Primalliquid92 I know that now it means that you'd have to prepare to do the post game which I will try to do with at least 5 and 4 and maybe 7 after I beat the main story of all 3.

How dangerous are the geo panels, and how big are the levels? I'm thinking back to d2/d4 when deathblow, clone, mighty enemy, reverse damage were frequent and scary. And also thinking about how tedious it was making stacks of characters to throw to gates.

well i found that if increase the stars on the cheat shop the stats of the enemies in the item world go crazy high up

There’s an Item Reincarnation squad? I don’t think I noticed that but I need to set my Mao up in that too since i use research a lot. edit: Looks like you need to buy the evility on Mao to get the +100 LP, common evility under !, very useful though!!!

Leveling an item does increase its LP, and because you can get 100 levels from item points, even if you don't enter an item and exclusively use the research team, you still get some stat increase. For a common item with no item world levels besides the 100 you can buy, I got 114 LP. That was enough to get 5-6% on each stat increase. If you do this repeatedly without doing any levels in the world yourself, the item will be forced to rank down! On the same token, if you have a high item level on reincarnation, apparently they can rank up too, but the mechanics of that aren't clear to me since I still suck too much to max out many 修羅/Carnage items.

ive maxed out quite a few things but cant seem to get any of the R39 stuff to rank up, its like how ive seen some PVPers though use traps and turn them into barefoot X, i have no idea how they've done it

People on the Japanese forums are saying R40 should be in the floor 30 item god of a R39 if it is level 300 or higher before floor 30. You can probably also get them from high level item reincarnation. What I don't know is how to get R40 monster weapons since I keep getting humanoid item gods with no weapons in them.

that is correct yes for how to obtain rank 40 stuff (although i think the level is somewhere around 350) im specificly talking about reincarnation here, some people online are reincarnating traps into bearfoot X for the extra movement but keeping the stats from the trap, and monster weapons should be the same, R39 monster weapon item god 2 should have the R40

@@Primalliquid92 ohh I see. Ya that could just be luck. If you have a maxed trap you maybe can keep rerunning floors 29 and 30 to reroll reincarnation options? I'm not sure if that would work or not, I will have to try it

Items can rank up too but its rare, maybe 1 in 5 or 1 in 10 items.

do you do anything special for this? ive reincarnated now litarally 100s of times and have never had an upgrade, only downgrade

@@Primalliquid92 No, Maybe they can't upgrade to 40 though and that still needs Item God or they just aren't in game yet or something. My Exodus never went up to Trape or above either. All my other items that aren't max rank see upgrades 1/10 times though, the card will appear golden from behind before it flips and have like a TCG foil effect over it in the selection.

no theres people online in pvp who you can check there reincarnation history for on there items, they leveling traps to massively increase stats and then reincarnating them into barfoot X for the movement

Do you still get the rank 40 items from the item gods? Just on floor 30 of a legendary rank 39 item?

yes :-) But your items seems to have a certain minimum lvl ( I think it's around lvl300+ )

2 Questions 1- are the weapons give skills like D5 or still like D6 ? 2- did they change the system like D5 ? i mean the gameplay, stats, monster can't use humans weapons and the whole gameplay you know what i mean cuz i don't like anything comes from D6 D5 was my best Disgaea ever thank you

Has "Item Research" ever been good? In the past we could *at least* farm for equipment in junk items we were going to sell anyway. However, you seem to be implying that it is only useful for leveling up items for Reincarnation, and it doesn't even do THAT right. Seriously, it is like Disgaia 7 has a thing against multitasking! Can't send units to raise the stats of an item while playing other maps, can't use the D.I. on uncompleted maps (such as Item World), and can't use D.I. *AT ALL* without a consumable resource. Whatever the Devs were trying to compensate for, they have clearly gone too far in the opposite direction. -_(\

I like it because I suck at beating the Item God on floor 30 of high rank 修羅/Carnage items. I can barely beat the boss on floor 20 still so I level as far as I can and use the research to finish it off so I can reincarnate. If I'm lucky I can still dupe along the way too. I'm not good enough with the 魔ビリティ/Evility system yet. I'm hoping He'll make a video on Evilties. Oh, and you can enhance items with item points to increase their level by 100 each reincarnation, which does increase LP even if you never entered the item.

@@xbon1 Well, as long as the blasted thing has a use, and can theoretically give me items I either don't have or at least a rarity high enough to make it worth grinding it up to Legendary just to fill out that log book... ...oh, right. *THAT* was the reason I stopped playing 6 on the Switch. 👿

the research has ALWAYS been useful depending on how you look at it, in 6 for example it was great at leveling multiple items upto 9999 rapidly for item point farms, in 5 it was amazing for unlocking R39 equipment early af without any trouble and the exclusive weapons from the R40 worlds were BIS aswell because of there effects. In D7 you can get juice bar stats and innocents (slower than hospital though) and other equipment, lots of R39 stuff but the big thing is you can advance 100 items at a time for mass reincarnating a VERY good feature
