DISCUSSION | Are parties ready to make compromises for coalitions?
With none of the political parties having achieved the required 50+1% of the vote with 99.84% of the Voting District Declared, a coalition government in South African is in all likelihood in the offing.
The EFF says while they are not willing to make compromises on their seven cardinal points and some of their principles, they are willing to enter into coalition negotiations.
For coalitions to work, compromises will need to be made. But are parties willing to make those concessions?
Prof Susan Booysen, Prof Sandile Swana and Dr Ongama Mtimka shares their thoughts in this discussion with SABC News' Sipho Kekana.

The trick is to get into coalition with parties that will respect agreements to create a stable government for the people

They are the only people they dont practice that we gonna kick them one by one this fuuul say the are opportunity in sadec not for immigrants but for south Africans so people deserve to work are immigrants speak rabbish he said the were immigrants during apartheid also said south Africans were working that means they were able to share wealth but also emphasis that 90% is not working and not want to share wealth uneducated fuuuls who doesn't know what cause problem is currency on which mean nothing or cant change our lives but too much to visitors who are sicking for each an every cent they can get most they left chasing currency bcz of their friends are millionare who were in south Africa this is the reason uneducated brains of fuuls in 100 zar to naira is 7,110.81 Nigerian Naira but R100 to south Africans is useless its one day traffic fee imagine if they get under payed R4000 its either without certificate job for graduate or train him after issued certificate whereas they chased south Africans bcz must have working experience not willing to train or give them chance for working experiance uneducated south Africans on which in south Africa is just for to survive instead of R20000 then convert it to Naira R4000 to Naira (284,432.20 Nigerian Naira

Phenomenal analysis n an excellent anchor
Profound analysis. Anchor knows what he is doing
Very impressive analysis and incredible anchor.
I agree with your sentiment that the principle of private ownership of water and electricity should be avoided but consider the reality in SA: the state has been the sole provider of those things since they were set up, and they have been destroyed with no clear end in sight. At this point, the trust that the state could be trusted to fix the system and deliver consistent water and electricity is gone. It’s a de facto choice between some private partnership or no services in the short to medium term
Fair analysis, respect to Bro Sands & Doc Og😅

The problem we have is most of them will still be putting their own political and other needs first before us even post the meetings amongst themselves for how things will work at national and provincial level . Also will they be able to allow that their egos don't get the better of them 🤔. Because we too must take into account how things have been at a local level wrt collision govt(s)
Thank you South Africans for showing ANC peppe, they really took advantage of you . Hope we shall not see that police chief Bheki

I fear any coalition could be unstable. This is a very interesting hinge point for the country. Eff and ANC seems most likely to me but it's very tense. Everyone needs to learn how to play well and EFF has cut out the chaos it seems so there's some hope.
Intelligent interesting feedback thank you
Re a leboga Mr Sipho Kekana 👍
Best analysis I have heard in a while ❤
We call for Re-Vote, and new system of voting implemented , we're in 4IR yet we still have to stand in line which is out of order plus this section 24A must be removed, ID and Fingerprint for confirmation are enough.

ANC does not Need DA.
Unfortunately the demise of the country from whatever factor happened during or under the reign of ANC. So the ANC is responsible directly or by default for the poor or deterioratex standards of liv8ng including corruption, unemployment and corruption
🗣️🎙️ Nothing really matters from here on. This is a new dawn for Abantustan's of South Africa, battle of ISANDLWANA🦁🦁🦁👑👑👑. No blood spillage, sheer mind brilliance(Ubuntu Heritage) buffalo horn style👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🤣🤣🤣.
What a mess so typical a big mess,MOGOENG MOGOENG our next president.
The strong parts which cause separation must patispate, in this three form,,ANC,+DA+EFF OR ANC+MK+EFF or ANC +MK+DA,its just because of power hungry ANc could just throw a towel and say guys all yours for now than the three oppositions can govern RSA for the next five years, than you can see how many prisoners we will have from ANC.
The Public Protector's office is crucial for ensuring accountability in South Africa. To enhance fairness and representation, it should consist of three heads, each from the three largest political parties. This approach would ensure a balanced and unbiased oversight, reflecting diverse perspectives and strengthening our democracy. What do you think? #PublicProtector #SouthAfrica #FairGovernance
Sandile Swana you bring a smile to my face, analysis at its best. ANC & DA coalition at provincial level a dismal disaster! MK P to sir at national level a breath of fresh air!

Politicians are so selfish that's why most people don't vote they don't put aside their differences to serve people
ANC, Mk and EFF will be in coalition and it will be a disastrous 5 years for South Africa. At least all three will destroy themselves. In 2030 South Africans will wake up and learn to vote for responsible leadership.
I can look South Africans in the eyes and tell them you aren't true democracy without feeling any remorse about it. Also tell them Nigerian democracy is more advanced than theirs.

I think education is important. Voting for neoliberal capitalists or, better but not great, social democrats won't save you from poverty or your terrible job if you're lucky to even have one. Socialism is the answer. Our people need to be educated on their economic oppression.
ANC and DA only can give the best for South Africa now.

Die ANC was split in half by Zuma who 'hijacked' the ethnic Zulu voters and seperated them from the REST (non Zulu) of the ANC. Zulu tribalism holds a big threat to the democracy. To prevent violent conflict KZN should seperate from the rest of SA. Establish a Zululand Kingdom similar to the Swazi Kingdom!
Sober analysis
TO OUR BELOVETH BLESSED LOVELY South Africans. THERE IS SOMETHING. The ANC and EFF will form a coalition,----Me Ramaphosa will allow MR JULIUS MALEMA to be President/LEADER while the ANC get large share of government position to work for the People. Even in the Netherlands, the party who got the highest votes is not fielding the prime minister. It is ONLY MR JULIUS MALEMA who is also an ANC MEMBER that can fine tune with the NOWADAYS work in Africa. Mr Ramaphosa oooooOOOOO,go ahead and do the NEEDFUL SPEEDILY immediately and right away and the South African and Black ANCESTORS REJOICETH.......
ANC EFF MK coalition will be a disaster for the country ...... ANC will be better with DA coalition that will be the best solition for South Africans

Agreed 100% ANC/DA coalition is the only one that can work. Different ideologies, but as they say opposites attract. Level heads can form a strong government. Most importantly a sound stable economy which in turn will attract foreign investment.
Economic disaster awaits SA with any government coalition that includes MK or EFF. If you don't understand the above you need to go to school.
