    having read some of the material on the lunars - everything about them is great, except for being an expansionist government i'd really love to play a character from Peloria or Saird. in particular the Six Ages games have gotten me hungry for more on Saird

    "Dangerously Stupid Idea" carried out successfully is the basis for any good RQ campaign.

    Not familiar with the host, but I love his reaction to the philosophical depth of Glorantha. I had the same moment when I first ran into Glorantha myself

    The comment about empires around 12:00 is interesting because Jeff refers to them as if they no longer exist. But we are currently in a world inwhich the US is a global empire. Reminds me of the quote, "you can't see the mountain when you are standing on the top."

    Agreed, although cultural and economic hegemony is a little different than being LITERALLY conquered and controlled. Not as different as some might want to believe, but it's an indirect power. The Romans, Mongols, and British (as examples) were much more violent and directly ruled those within their sphere.
