Based on your disclaimer and Jake’s other reactions, I was expecting worse . Lol almost didn’t watch the reaction. He is just anti-dark songs. Although his snap judgement about “ dancing not being their strong point” after only One song that wasn’t choreo-heavy. 😅😅😅

His reactions to these songs are the same as my cousins' who live in the UK. They did not like these songs at first coz they were expecting teeny bopper songs with rap about positivity and empowerment as these are what they got used to from the Kpop groups that are heavily promoted in the west. So they were surprised that EXO is different. Perhaps, the lack of western promotion of EXO is somehow a blessing in disguise as they weren't stuffed into a bubble of limited musical freedom by western agencies.

Monster is THAT song. It brings me into kpop 6 years ago and it still slaps so hard 😢

The analogies, hilarious... EXO at times can be a dark place... hardly any unicorns. 'Call Me Baby' has the New Jack Swing sound and that's what his ears are picking up. It's Teddy Riley's signature. The chords in 'Obsession' is a gem, sweet. Great reaction guys.

Exo are vocal kings 👑 but their dances are complex too.

I love his reviews but please educate him on the fact that EXO is the blueprint for most of the KPop groups that we see today.

Jake is a tough cookie to please but I like it because his reactions are honest 😂

Do Kyungsoo is just incredible in every sense. He is one of the few vocalists who can make your heart flutter and cause a storm of emotions. He manages his deep voice and sweet timbre with such ease that the same part can sound completely different "starting very roughly and ending unrealistically gently". Not mentioning he always channeled energy 'i.wish.i.wasnt.here' energy, but kill it for every task handled to him.

I think they would like obsession stage version better that really showcased the dancing and performance in general or some of their other dance practices. Cant wait for more Exo content. sending lots of luv🤗

I love that exo takes us to a dark and mysterious place after a major note. It’s so unexpected. But I can’t see how it throws some off.

I was not a fan of obsession at first but as the time went by...it became so DOPE!

You did pick some dark ones for him to start out with ahahahaha Especially if he doesn't like the creepy/omninous vibes. Story line is huge and the concept for Monster and Obsession is very specific. As usual though, it's not like you can represent their discography and style with a few title tracks. No one could. There is just too much and so much variety. (Would love to see his reaction to EXO-CBX Blooming Day etc. that one came to mind immediately, don't know why. :)

Nah I get how to first half is super satisfying, but for me I love the entire piano bit-whole thing is heavenly imo. Best part of the song for me. Been obsessed with this song since it dropped lol

I think Exo and usually most SM groups, are not easy for non kpop fans. They're confusing musically and the videos don't help either xD. I myself find it very hard to like SM groups music, their solo stuff on the other hands is usually much better and easier to grasp

I am way late for this reaction. I hope you got him to react to their solo's like D.O and Baekhyun and Suho and Kai and even Layshawn I mean Lay. Did he really ask how many was in EXO? They started out with 12 now its 9 I believe. Sadly some members left due issues in their contract and personal health issues. The OG EXO-L know what I mean. I didn't like Obsession when it was first released and thought it was their weakest title song at that time. I only came to like it this year LOL so taste can really vary

I understand that everyone has their own taste but you can't tell straight to kai's face that they're not really good at dancing, he's literally one of the few KINGS! btw, i have the impression that he should dive into exo's discography a lil more, they have literally almost every genre down!
