​@@wheevocado most agencies put visuals on top of all criteria for girl groups, YG focuses on talent. YG also prioritizes quality over quantity same with what newjeans did (only have 6 songs so far). YG also is kind of trend setter. Back then in 2007, innocent and cute girl groups dominated the industry and YG launched 2ne1 with girl crush concept. In 2016, YG debuting blackpink (beautiful version of 2ne1) and that's how blackpink attracted the public attention at first because it's the first time YG talking about visuals. That's what I see with newjeans, in the midst of girl crush concept and noisy songs, they debuted with freshness fun and light songs. Honestly, babymonster is under pressured to have a status as a blackpink junior and YG must've go through long brainstorming about what concept they gonna try this time with the new girl group. However, I believe it's going to be hip-hop or RnB~ YG have the talent, the standard, and the plans.

Lmao same. Not because I’m a hard core blink, but just other groups don’t have that “IT” aura to them like Blackpink does and that makes you want potentially idolize them. The only group that came closest for me to stan them was IVE, and now Baby Monster.

Thats why we only see 5 members on the dance perfomance cuz the other have a different team (baby monters use to be have 10 member/trainee) the one that was new probably only Haram live perfomance

She could be... But i think it's more of the G-Dragon style (the original style from whom lisa and Jennie [actually most of the 2nd & 3rd gen idols] took their inspiration). I'm saying this coz of her dance performance, coz that 'toung out' and that 'smerk at the end' is totally GD thing. Jenlisa generally gives you ' I'm coming for you' vibes, whereas GD was giving "I'm way better than you... You don't Stand a chance" vibes and i got same vibes from Ahyeon. (Maybe I'm overreacting and this might not be the case 😂)

They are rumored to have been moved to the BlackLabel New GG to be managed by Teddy. The reason being overlapping skill sets and sounds, and their ages were all 21 and older which was high for the target concept of BabyMonster.

I also don't mind because yg never makes their female talents wear inappropriate clothing. Look at how BP dress on their debut, it's fun, they're wearing skirts but it's not sexualized. Also YG encourages their trainees to continue their education if they want to

Actually 14 -15 has been average age to debut since early 2000’s ……….the youngest I believe was BOA at 13 yrs old. The whole age thing has been an issue since then and there are even some in fourth generation……though noticed it’s becoming a topic a lot more since they from YG. Yes you were right, the gg before BP was called 2NE1 and the way their disbandment happened was very bad to put it simply. One member out of 4 had already left and one was amidst a huge scandal so YG just let them disband and introduced BP as a replacement. YG had been seen on numerous occasions saying 2NE1 are ugly and after BP debuted, he called BP a prettier version of 2ne1. So BP was extremely hated even before debut and esp Jennie was harassed w even people creating rumors about her, accusing her of sleeping w the CEO and way worse.

@@abcd3577 Errr... Blackpink already debuted even before 2NE1 disbanded. And it's not Blackpink's fault that they're disbanded. It's just because YG situation was such a mess at that time. with all the scandals going on. It started with Bom's scandal, which led to all of that. People hating her for ridiculous reasons made her scared of public eyes. Her mental health is getting worse and worse. Other 2ne1 decided to wait for her to recover before doing any group activities. But it took too long, so Minzy decided to leave the company and 2NE1. At that time, Seungri and YG were in big trouble too. such a mess at that time. And I knew it would happen. YG must do something they could to survive. They must let go and hold on to what they can. I thought it was a bad decision to be made, but maybe that was the best they could do at that time. Imagine if there were no scandals at that time and YG wouldn't disband 2NE1. They don't have any reason to do it. Like they don't have any reason to disband Blackpink after debuting Beemon. The situation is different.

Idk why it's an issue YG calling them ugly or something haha this guy has no filter sometimes but compared to all girl groups at that time, they really were not beautiful, esp. without makeup. I think only Dara and Bom were considered pretty back then. But so what? Even BIGBANG were called ugly! But these two groups became the biggest and most legendary GG and BG of their generation.

Center Dancer: The one that was at center when you asked about it was Ruka, she started on the left and was also the one that did a short 3 second pop/krump. Then she moved to the middle when they were on the ground. After that, she moved to mid back right. She is known to be the most experienced dancer of the group.

I've witnessed your blackpink journey and I love it and now I think I will witness your baemon journey too hahaha. I've promised to myself before that. I only stan BP but when these talented girls babymonster appeared now I think I will stanning 2 kpop groups now BP and Baemon huhu. about the 2ne1(pronounced two-n-e-one or to anyone) and blackpink situation, I'm not really familiar, but Minzy(2ne1 maknae) left the group and yge in April 2016 bp debut August 2016 2ne1 disbanded in November 2016 Personally, I don't think yge disbanded 2ne1 for bp, I feel they had parallel paths where one ended and one began A lot of factors caused the disbandment, minzy leaving, park bom drug scandal(it was Adderall for her health ffs) and tbh yge usually doesn't care/mismange their groups after their rookie years, they kind of leave it up to the artists and the public/fans But the bp 2ne1 issue began bc yge marketed bp as next 2ne1, they had four members, yhs infamously called them prettier 2ne1(which he meant that their visuals and concept were more close to generic kpop gg visuals than 2ne1, bc 2ne1 were different, that was their whole brand image, till today no one, not even one kpop gg come close to the level of power, charisma and boss bitch energy they had) and bp were supposed to be pretty and strong(pink black) ANYWAY that was VERY insensitive and stupid and obviously when bp debuted and 2ne1 disbanded and bp got good treatment during their rookie years, all hell broke loose literally bp got hated on by blackjacks and blink fought back, hated on 2ne1, it was dirty and there were no interactions b/w 2ne1 and bp like there were b/w yge bgs bc of timing issue and the whole respect thing came up bc it was as if 2ne1 never existed which is impossible bc they cemented yge brand which bigbang built but its sad how it happened and opened a can of worms of toxicity which is only recently being forgotten. Yge obviously doesn't want the situation to repeat(and exponentially blowup considering kpop fanbase is bigger now) and involved blackpink from the beginning)

YG's previous GG, 2NE1, four members group, had a huge scandal before. Which forced them to have a hiatus, and in the middle of their hiatus, one of their members left. Three members left, but the member with huge scandal is among them. They tried to test the water but having them appear on MAMA bafter about a year of their hiatus, but the backlash they received in South Korea was still huge. So the member with scandal was put into long hiatus while two members do their own thing. One of them had a solo US debut and activities there but she got an issue with the way YG promotes her there. Anyway, long story short, their disbandment was kinda expected due to the scandal and other problems they have. With BP, however, they have no scandals that caused a nation wide rage. Just silly dating scandals. So there'll be no such a thing as "replacement". Also, BP debut was postponed due to 2NE1 scandal. So BP was not a "replacement". If anything, their plan was screwed.
