Japan has so many diverse climates. No wonder domestic travel is so popular as you can experience the north with the ice and cold and the south with the tropical weather all in one country. The water and sky in Zamami island is breathtaking. Thanks for sharing!

So fun, I'm from Denmark as well like the lady you met and was also on Zamami Island when I went to Japan last summer! I didn't go glass kayaking though, but looks really fun to do. And when the water is 27 degrees hot you're not really afraid of falling in! lol I went with the "slow boat" from Naha that took 2 hours and had to get back same day sadly. When I was there I wished I booked at least one or two hotel stays, even though it was like 33 degrees and humid af (never got used to the heat lol) I really loved the island.

I checked Noah's blog (the snorkeling tour) and they were operating in the winter last year! It seems like you can rent wet suits in the winter. Hotels seem to be open too! From December to April, you can go for whale watching in Zamami so that would be a fun time to visit!
