I remember enjoying Oud Wood when I tried it a few years back, right at the start of my fragrance journey. I'll definitely try this new one when it comes out.

More "dense" is what I was hoping you'd say for the new Parfum! Oud Wood is one of my signature scents and one of my gripes about it was how airy it felt. My OG gold label Oud Wood has that "density" to it that today's Oud Wood does not have. The Parfum sounds promising! Cheers!

I'm glad it smells nearly identical, just thicker / stronger. That's what a concentration increase is supposed to do, and the edp needed it in this case. I think too often we see edp or parfums take the edt and tweak it with new notes etc. That's what a flanker is for, eau fresh or noir etc. So 👍 from me.

I love the older bottles of Oud Wood.. was my signature from 2011 to the late teens. Now it’s so thin and lacks the sweetness and fluffy thickness I have in my older bottles. Looking forward to sniffing the Parfum.

There are a few tom ford fragrances that can totally stand to be ramped up. This is definitely one of them 👌🏼

Your comments on sample spray bottles is so true. It is rarely the same experience. I’m surprised by some luxury houses that still use those trash sample bottles that don’t even spray half the time. Here’s looking at you Xerjoff.

I can’t even find an article about it. So glad you got a sample to break down! How much will the 1.7 be? Or the 3.4? Ok. You literally just said you don’t have a price point yet. Who do you think will make the best dupe? Or does it already exist? I’ve not smelled the 07 formulation, or the intense yet. But I LOVE the dry down of our wood. It’s the best ever, if only it had spillage and projection.

Loved Oud Wood Intense! Richard Herpin has done a fragrance in his Precious Liquid line called Juniper Oud which smells very similar to it

Is the Portofino Parfum launching in March too? Hope you get an advanced sample of that too. I loved the Forte and was sad when it got discontinued. Always love your content, Sebastian. You stay right up to date with all the new releases.

I was told yes but I have not idea exactly when. I was told there are certain arrangements with certain retailers so I'll see if and when Neiman Marcus here receives it.

I have both gold label and regular label Oud Wood..gold label is a little more sweeter for me. Both are versatile for all seasons! Oud Wood Intense was just too animalistic for me! Can’t wait for Oud Wood Parfum!

I enjoy Tom Ford gourmands. Never been a fan of Oud Wood but my husband loves it. So I think this might be for him. He's gone through 3 bottles of Oud Wood since 2016. Time to level him up with the Parfum. I think he'll be very happy with a longer lasting version.

Very nice video. Since you know very well Oud Wood Intense, I am pretty sad they discontinued this fragrance, i love the beast side. Do you know something similar for men? Started earlier with M7 at YSL though - the first oud fragrance in western perfumery

I actually got the intense first, absolutely love it, horde it because I can’t get it anymore. Then, trying the regular, in comparison to the intense, too thin, linear, and less performance Definitely paying attention to this release

i tried Oud wood from Sephora several years back and liked it. I bought the clone woody oud which to my nose has been the closest copy of any copies I have tried so far. One thing that puzzles me though is people have described this as sweet where as to my nose both the original and clone came off as being bitter.

You are right about reformulation, though. I saw an interview with the perfumer Richard Herpin that talked about the evolution over the years - it’s been due to IFRA regulation impacting raw ingredients that promoted longevity.

Estee Lauder lists the FORMULA codes on the boxes for every fragrance they produce, as does Dior and L'Oreal. A great video showing screen captures of various fragrance boxes from the last 15 years and their changed formula codes would be terrific to watch, but it would take quite a bit of research. That would be how one could tell how often Oud Wood has been reformulated.

raw ingredients 10-20yrs back then are not the same either. Soil, weather, harvests, availability of resources, logistics, is not the same as it was in the past. It has mostly deteriorated. While corporate greed has gone upwards. Things change, not everything is due to a regulation or the other.

@@A.K.00 To continue your thought about the soil and harvests, other than the natural oils, even perfumer's alcohol might even be slightly different because of the changes in corn used to make ethanol over the decades since a vintage classic was issued.

I could suggest trying out Ajmal Amir One and Amir Two. The latter is soo intense and high quality oud, not like designer stuff.

Just released. Tried it in Madison Ave. location. On my skin, slightly denser, bit brighter than the original. That’s about it. Wish they took the original and just amped it up with some complimenting notes and better longevity. 50 ml - 445.

I got my first bottle of Oud Wood last Christmas. I like the smell but it is a little weak and I seem to get nose blind to it quite easily.

The Original 2007 is one of my favorites.

I love Oud Wood, but sadly is more weak on these days 😢 I like Carved Oud for Thameen, is very close, with a little bit more strong and power

I really like the original but I rarely spay it, never tried the intense would have loved to I love animalics, so the perfume... 😬 I don't know, I will try it but I find it redundant in my collection, I don't think I'll buy it. Thanks for the video Sebastian!!!

I just received an Oud Wood sample in a Sephora order, I don't know if it's the old or new version. It looks like the same little box you showed. I haven't tried it on my skin, just a strip. I agree it seems very light. Just noticed my box says EDP.

How does it feel? Seems like it should be rather oily with how it sprays. And I want a tobacco vanilla parfum

Is this anywhere near the power from Nishane Kredo? Felt like Kredo is the best alternative for Oud Wood for much better performance.

All Tom Ford Private Blends are great fragrances...

I love the intense one, but it was too far discontinued to find at a reasonable price when I discovered it. The original Oud Wood is VERY thin and gone right away. Have you tried the new version of Out Minerale and if so is it any different from the original?

Im a big fan of Oud Wood. Loooove it....I still have my bottle ...ALSO, Im a gal wearing it and smells delicious on me If it still smells very similar, I am happy then But yeah that bottle will prolly go for $600 lol

My husband and brother love Oud Wood. Hubs didn’t like the intense at all! He thought it stunk like body odor lol! He ended up giving it away. He’s curious to try this new release. 👍🏼

I agree it is pretty animalic but it dries down to a funkier Oud Wood.

Tom Ford have great fragrances but it’s not niche quality. If you love Oud Wood, try Nishane Kredo and Xerjoff Hayat

Favorite Tom Ford is Tobacco Vanille. Then Vanilla Sex. Love vanilla.

I'm Wonder how is performance

I bought my bottle of Oud Wood from Nordstrom back in 2020. It is an absolute beast on me. I get 12-14 hours from it and 2-3 good sprays on me will fill a room. It's definitely gotten stronger with time, almost to the point that it can be overpowering if I'm not careful. I do love it though.

What is the FORMULA code listed on the box? Estee Lauder fragrances call it an ILN #.

PS : and I definitely agree about atomizers... but let's be honest... Tom ford's sprayers are always 👎🏼 which drive me crazy for that retail price.

Neroli Portofino Forte is definitely different from EDP so I think the parfum version will be different from Forte

Ashton got Oud Wood's perfumer on his YT chanel and he admitted that they indeed reformulated the fragrance, probably multiple times because of IFRA regulations.

I'm not sure Sebastian's saves his boxes but he should. Estee Lauder has been issuing Tom Ford fragrances since the mid 2000's and maybe earlier. All Estee Lauder produced fragrances have an ILN # on the last line of the box ingredients. ILN stands for "Ingredients List Number". When that changes, it means the fragrances has been reformulated. The problem is that KZread reviewers seem to have been unaware of it for the last 10 years!

I got my nose on the Tom Ford fragrances in 3 airport's recently. Found them all to be weird, didn't find them to be pleasant at all.

There’s an oil called President Obama -smells exactly like Oud Wood. The oil was one of those oils sold at one of those African oil kiosk things so I’m sure Oud Wood was the inspiration. Now, years later I tried Oud Wood and immediately was reminded of that

Thicker deeper version of oud wood sounds good because oud wood performances are crap honestly. I am more concerned about the skyrocket price they will sell it. Thameen Carved Oud is already a better contender imo... curious to smell OW Parfum

Oud is a heavily used middle eastern fragrance. I am infatuated with Oud Wood Intense and it was discontinued before I could get one and I am extremely saddened. I highly disliked the origin Oud Wood.

It’s not…I have a bottle from 2020 ame it lasts sooooo long on me. Like even when I go to bed I feel it in my sheets. No lies. Maybe it doesn’t project that much but it stays too long.

Since TF sold the brand, they try hard to milk the cow as much as possible.

Castorium is beaver butt butter. It used to be used as an artificial vanilla flavor. It's considered safe for human consumption, but .... gross

Oud Wood is one of my favorites, such a classic. Oud Wood Intense is an abomination. As an aside, its kind of sad w/ how expensive Tom Ford fragrances are that their atomizers are complete trash.
