Kinda like Richie for Richard... when I found out his name years later I thought it was funny me and my friends called him that when we talked about the movie and tried to recreate the moves.

Indian Bollywood was not an only source of media entertainment in USSR with all due respect. They had plenty of sources inside the country and from around the world. The reason why so many Russian-speaking fans here is because for several years the Soviet Union was showing Indian films in the Soviet-allied part of the world to promote communication and cooperation between India and those countries. The Indian and Soviet studios also made movies together. It was a part of policy to build a firm bloc of socialist countries.
