Not sure about the year but the W126 300SD was USA only and the engine was basically the W124 300 turbo diesel engine. This car was produced between 1981-1985 and as mentioned USA only. 5-pot 3-liter.
I have a 300se like the one in the video, here in Saudi Arabia, it's done 980,000km, which is roughly 600,000 miles. And she is still working with all her might

The wheels are called Mercedes Barock. You can find them from 14in to 17in in size. Definitely keep them, it adds so much character to any older mercedes. They are in need of refinishing but still looks good.

One of the best built cars I have ever seen on this type of channel. They were simple and very dependable.

Outstanding job guys on a stunning car. The clay bar work shows your commitment to properly cleaning the car. I always look forward to the collaborations with other detailers. Keep up the great work.
That wheel style was called Barock I think. These cars were practically indestructible. I used to work at a retirement home and we had a resident who had 2 1984 models. Both of them had 600K+ miles on them.

Yes! Indestructible!! For several reasons Mercedes 40 years ago sent to some African countries tons of Mercedes which stopped being used in the rest of the world and you can find videos and street interviews about people saying that their Mercedes have +1 million km or some crazy stuff like that. Of course the cars are in really bad shape but for being used daily for +40 years and still working is just mind blowing.

1982, Turbo location on the passenger car under the Air Cleaner. that is a rare color if memory serves me right! Biggest issue from experience is the Timing Chain Tensioner. I've heard of these hitting 700K. Mine had 450K on it, and I sold it and the current owner has 580K. Fantastic cars!

i have to agree with you, because you can see the air charge tube below the factory air cleaner
The Turbo is located on the right side of the engine, right unterneath the Airfilter… if you don’t push this car as long as it’s cold and change oil regularly, this is a car for a lifetime. Mileages around 600t without even opening the engine is usual. Probably the best S-Class Mercedes ever made. I had 7 W126 in the past 20 years and all of them were sold for a high price again. The best engine is the 5 Liter V8 of the later years… strong, lasting forever and even today quiet fast on the German Autobahn.
My upstairs neighbor had this model, purchased in Germany & shipped back to California (along with a Rolls). After her husband passed, I would take her to Costco & run errands with her driving this massive car. It was like driving a tank, solid steel construction. Smooth ride over the hills. A super posh interior, real wood on the dash, it was beautiful and an amazing vehicle. A real pleasure to drive. Godspeed to Pat, she was a fabulous person.
Que belo projeto ,o resultado final ficou espetacular ,um grande abraço de um fã do canal ,diretamente do Rio de Janeiro _Brazil.
I love how this car came out. Sick results 👌🏾❤🔥
Wow! Awesome revival fellas! The turbo is adjacent to the flux capacitor...under the air filter.
That little piece of carpet in the center console @9.00 can be removed very easily by getting a screwdriver under an edge and lifting it up. It's not glued in place or anything.
Hello from Germany, the wheels are called Barock Wheels/Style.
As a truck driver for 45 years, I love diesel engines in that one right there is capable of running 1,000,000 miles
Great contect, keep up the good work, it so satisfying to watch this automotive masterpiece came back in life, glory days. Btw the rims are made by Fuchsfelge, these are forged called barok classic rims.
The Mercedes cars from the 1970s to 1990s are likely the most overbuilt cars of all time, save maybe an early LS400. The paint alone weighs nearly 20 pounds on these cars. The MB-Tex vinyl interiors they created are nearly indestructible. They created the most elaborate process for rust inhibition which is why so many still come back like new with a deep detailing. The engine bay should come out even nicer than what I saw. The sides should be the same glossy silver as the exterior paint. Take a look at any nicely detailed Benz on BAT. Last thing, guys make sure that anytime you get an old German car, esp an old Mercedes, don’t forget to deep detail the undercarriage and wheel wells. They come back LIKE NEW because of how well these were built! Imagine the undercarriage/wheel wells. It’s honestly worth doing another 2-4min short video.
Superb work guys! Amazing outcome.
I hope one day you guys find a ford zx2 and detail it or an older ford escort I love how much you TLC yall have this channel is beyond the most underrated keep up the videos!!!!💯💯
I like that you pre-soak before you power wash so that you don't turn the dirt into an abrasive driven by the high pressure - too many people take a dry filthy car and just blast it - you also started on the roof and worked down which is how I was taught to wash ANYTHING so that you dont end up washing dirt off the roof over a just cleaned hood etc. wetting the car first before power washing and then washing from the top down is, at least to me, the smartest way to do this.
Maravilha de Mercedes, serviço perfeito!
1984, I remember my father had a 380SEL back in the day. 😊😊
My father still has his exactly like that 1984 300SD in silver, all original everything including the first aid kit never used still in the window compartments. Only thing replaced was the power antenna.
As a Mercedes fan thank you.
Best Car, Gold Era Mercedes Benz
What an amazing job for an amazing car. Happy New Years fellas.
It was called :Pacific Blue". I had it in my 1980 450 SEL. That car was a total cruiser! I loved being able to drive it for hours on end at very high rates of speed. Never had it on the Autobahn, but definitely drove it well above 100 MPH! Never hesitated or bawked at anything I asked it to do!
It looks like my parents’ 1983 SD. It was silver and navy blue. Very fun.
In a nutshell that is the best Merc ever built…
Great job gentlemen you brought this beauty back to life. What kind of person would abandon such a luxurious car? The carpets and seats speak of a grand and luxurious car. I don’t understand why you don’t put the car up on a four post and clean the bottom, take off the tyres (I mean if you can take off the seats to do the interiors) and clean the inside of the tyre rims. Also why don’t you start with the interior first?
Amazing job I did not even think you’d be able to get it that clean wow I am blown away
For the first time in my life I see such front lights in a Mercedes 😲🤔🙄 greetings from Poland 👌🤭
Parabéns pelo trabalho!!!!
Turbo is under air cleaner.. I know these cars well. Best designed car ever built.
Wheels are Barockfelgen. Always liked this era of S-class, a girl friend of mine's father had a 280SE back in 1982 (yeah, I'm old...) But why anyone buying an S class in the US would choose that diesel engine is completely beyond me. In Europe where gas has always been expensive it sort of makes sense but even then, it's a f***ing Benz, if you can afford it then you can afford the V8. In the US? No sense at all! And by the way, nice job. The end result took me back 40 years to when I was young and stupid. And for that you have my thanks.
Ilove all the Crome trim on the older Mercedes
Awesome 👌 👏 👍🏿 job on the W-126 Turbo diesel
Super nice cleaning, you make me remember my Childhood, I grew UP in Düsseldorf ( Germany) in 1971 to 1984 and this Mercedes-Benz serie was a SUPERSTAR car or even a Big Boss one. Vielen Dank für euere video, superklasse. Well done Gentlemen.
I've has 3 300 TD's 76' 78' 79 Only problem with them is the diesel rack for the injection wears out...expensive fix.
This 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine is one of the Best Engine Mercedes has ever built, they last for ever with the appropriate maintenance. Mercedes has in Germany the one million kilometers club. Please leave it Original.
Looks just like the 1982 that I had. It's before the facelift, which I think was in 1985 (not sure). And it's a US market car.
Hey guys, I love your channel. I’m surprised you hadn’t seen those wheels before; they were the most common style in the late 80s and early 90s and yes, I was old enough to remember as I was 18 in 1986 and REALLY into European cars. My dad had a 1977 300D and that’s the car on which I learned to drive! Those W124s can run forever, honestly, if you take care of it. There are many documented that have gone over 1,000,000 miles. Oh, and thank you for removing the dealer badge. That is so tacky!
You never switch the wheels on a classic Mercedes or Audi unless there was another original type of wheel that was an option available for that model and model year.
Very beautiful cars in old times 💚💚👌
Great pressure washing footage! I will miss doing my own pressure washing until spring. Frozen here in Minnesota and no drain in shop so I’m stuck until then I can do rinseless washes but most of the vehicles I do are too dirty to use that method.

It looks like the 1981 300SD that I owned for 9 years with blue interior and silver/blue paint. Nothing special about the blue interior other than it's rare and fades easily if not protected from the sun. That SD was the best car I've ever owned, drove it until 300K, then sold it to a fellow in my neighborhood several years ago. I still see it driving around once in a while.
Good to hear it was left in a garage instead of outside to rot away. Beautiful cars these are. I'm not a fan of the US headlights or the larger bumpers but we never got the Diesel engines here in europe. They are such brilliant engines, reliable, great MPG and decent performance from the turbo engines. I believe this is an early pre-facelift car, 1981/2 maybe. The alloys are called Mexican Hat alloys, period correct. They look nice but I personally prefer the facelift alloys that came on these cars.
Top work lads 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Wow ! Excellent job. 1982 is my guess
What a beautiful car ❤
The car appears to have been stored properly. The detailing outcome does not show rust damage or significant Paint wear. That Is good😊 that Is a Nice Work
So satisfying to watch.

Great work !!! And Beautiful Benz !!!
Happy new year Brent and RJ!
Beautiful Great Video 😍🤩
The first really nice car I detailed was a 1976 Mercedes 450 SEL sedan in chocolate brown with tan leather. It belonged to a doctors wife friend of the family. The quality of a Mercedes in the 70s when compared to the plastic of a Ford or a Chevy was unreal. Just the way the seats felt when you got inside, 😊or that classic thump of a Mercedes Benz door closing. It was awesome. This car you doing appears to be mid to late 80s.
That era of Mercedes are being restored and that will make a great project.
About 15 years ago, I worked with a guy (we worked at a furniture store) he had a older 70's or 80's Mercedes similar to the one in the video. Just NA, no turbo. He kept it minty clean, inside and out. Had over 250k miles on it, and it always looked like he had just ran it through a touchless carwash. Sadly, I'm sure he's passed by now, so not sure of the car's current whereabouts.
Bundt wheels in the US market. I had one of these and a 300D. Both were in great shape but not museum quality so I replaced them with 15 inch factory wheels and kept these for snow tires. If it were an immaculate low mileage example, then for the sake of originality I would leave those on.
240 and 300D are the best cars in the history of cars
Dude. OK, so that is a W126 S-class of the first series. You can tell by the fact that the plastic on the side has ribs. The first series was built from 1979 to 1985. The 300SD was built from 1980. I would just guess this is an 83. It has a 3 liter 5 cyl turbo diesel making roughly 120hp, and it was never available in Europe. The turbo is visible, it is located under the air filter. The only model you could get this engine in in Europe was the 300TD, which is the W123 "E-class" station wagon (Correctly called S123, and no, it was not available in the sedan!). The rims are called "Fuchsfelgen" (yes, like the legendary Porsche ones) but they might also be called "Barockfelgen". They are very sought after, and you definitely do not want to exchange those.
Mine had over 400K! 1983, some people crazily thought it was new - those rims are called "Bundts"
I would definitely keep it OEM OEM means all original all the way around The air of from 1940 to 1960s some '70s but that error for all cars makes and models I believe the body styles and the work that they put into them as in the chrome trim and all the little things they do to them make them stand out the most and that's when the cars were built the best
классная работа. Молодцы. У нас в России очень любят все модели Мерседес. Удачи. И с новым годом ребята.
I couldn’t agree with you more about the dealer badge or sticker. Every single time I get a car, the first thing I remove is that stupid sticker then give it a good deatail. Great content!

That Mercedes Benz came from the dealer that used to be in the city where I live near, Lakewood, Ohio. My Uncle used to buy his Mercedes Benz at that dealer.
The interior color is Perfect
Blue was a rare interior color. I would say it's an 83 or 84. If memory serves me correctly the frame around the seat back nets was metal until 1982, and since it does not have a driver's airbag or ABS, it's not an 85.
This is my favourite MB body style and those wheels were very common for the era
