Disaster clean with me (it’s not just you)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey, guys! Today’s video is a bit different. Thanksgiving was so late this year, life feels rushed, and I kinda do, too. I hope you enjoy this take on cleaning motivation. Hopefully just what you needed on a Monday!

When you leaned on Carson's shoulders, a single tear fell out my face! Most of the time it's the other way around, but sometimes we need them just like they need us. Sometimes that little shoulder gives you just the right amount of endorfins to get you through.

I've lowered my expectations about as low as they can get! I don't even have any decorations up! If we get to it, great. The kids don't care (they're teens). I even told them they can put up the decorations if they want. My focus is on enjoying our time together, even if it's just sitting around the living room hanging out.

I with you girl! This is my first year back to full time work and I have cried almost every night since Thanksgiving because I feel like I’m failing at creating memories. I’m going to do a little decorating each day of the week. And I’m going to remind myself it’s for my kids. Not magazines or to say I’m that good. But to do it because it brings joy to the kids and I. Let it be. Let the love fill in. Let God do his thing.

I can relate to that. Stress is tiring. My house is a wreck and it gets overwhelming. I don't have good housekeeping or decluttering skills. I do laundry, dishes, yard work, grocery shopping, and cooking and have a second job. Sometimes I do get started and that project makes an area "much better". So even if the overall house is awful, I can be happy about "much better".Sometimes getting started is overwhelming.

Fast forward 3 years later and just starting to really see your surrounding and thinking how the heck did this happen....well it started that spiral of overwhelmed and Not knowing were exactly to start in putting thing back I order....Soo glad to finally be at a point that I can see though.....finding that starting point is still hard, work in progress...some days it is literally a minute by minute journey or hour by hour, the most important but the hardest thing is to get up and move....Hope everyone has a Blessed, Beautiful, and productive Day!!!

God is asking me to take a step back, do less, and enjoy the moment. It's hard but so rewarding! Love your channel! Agreed with your notion of living more “present”. I find that the everyday stress of cleaning, cooking, taking care of the kids, etc takes me away from spending quality time with my kids. I have major OCD when it comes to cleaning and I find that it constantly disrupts my fun time with them because I cannot “let go” and want everything to be spotless. I keep trying to remind myself that when they grow up, my kids will remember me as cleaning all of the time rather than playing with them and it makes me sad! I’m glad that I am not alone on this one....and I too “pile and procrastinate”.

It’s so hard to remember; especially during the hustle and bustle of the Holiday seasons, to appreciate the little things. We always strive for perfection. We expect too much of ourselves. I find myself breaking down in tears daily during the holidays because of the pressure I put on myself. This video reminded me to stop, take a breath and make those memories....not the perception of perfection!

With anxiety, I usually struggle at the holidays. This year we started a business, so my husband and I are both struggling, hoping that it all works out and we succeed. Our daughter will be the only one with presents this year. We're thankful for the little things, like instead of thawing turkey for tacos tonight, my parents bought us take out, so my husband will use the fresh produce I bought as salads for his lunches. A double blessing.

I am a college student and let me tell you procrastination used to be my best friend. I needed inspiration one day and stumbled upon Mel Robert's channel. Her talks are super motivating and they make you feel like you can tackle the world. I also enjoy watching your channel. As I moved into my first apartment you helped me keep my home organized and on a budget! Who doesn't love holiday decor on a budget

I normally find this time of year hard - there is so much to do and I totally lack motivation for it, it's dark here almost all day and the weather is horrible. This year is my first year as a teacher and life even more 'full' now, but everyday the 4 and 5 year olds I spend my days with remind me of the pure joy of Christmas. It's not the big things they tell me about, it's the special book that they're reading with their family, or the walk in the park to see Santa or decorating biscuits. One of them told me yesterday that he asked Santa if he knew me and Santa said that of course, he did and that I was definitely on the nice list. Such a simple thing made my heart dance with happiness. I hope I can always remember to be a child at heart!

Wow 😍❤️🥰 🙏😘 Who else feels like you’re drowning is mess, responsibilities, and life... and that this video was the real, honest, refreshing, blessing you needed to remember that you’re not alone and that we can do it! I’m running to go clean now; gonna make a video about it too. Thanks for the motivation that we just have a habit of procrastinating and how to acknowledge the stress, awaken our prefrontal cortex, and start cleaning 🙏❤️😘 God bless you and your beautiful family Kathryn - cheers to being more present 🥰 xoxo Fernelle

Sorry for your loss. They say grief never goes away, it just changes. Maybe you can create a new tradition of making a special time around the holidays to remember him, with family or alone. Look at photos, share memories. That way, you can begin to build sweet (bittersweet but still sweet) associations with him+the holidays. Do it at the beginning of the season to put yourself in a strong, grounded head space, knowing he loved you and would want you to cherish the holidays, not dread them. Hugs to you

😞😞😞 I feel your pain. I have lost 3 at Christmas time now. And I hate that it just takes a word, a sound, a smell, to make me break out in tears. But I have found that it does help to acknowledge it and set time aside to feel it and let it go. Again. Even if It IS every year, I find that it makes it a bit easier that I keep making time to remember them and feel their absence.
