I have a problem where the focusing element (front element) is not aligned with the base of the lens. When it is reassembled, the focusing element won't sit flush at 1x magnification (or 70mm). (Normally, it would fit in and won't be noticed when it is at infinity focus and zoomed out) I don't know what could cause this since I've tried reseating it several times with close to no improvement. I tried compensating it by screwing the front element until it won't go further, but it unfortunately still can't do infinity focus. It only focus close things at around 10-20 meters. My lens would be Nikon AF Nikkor 70-300mm 1.4-5.6G (62mm)
