After 9 years, my good old DV6-6090ef is going "brrrrrrrrrr", with little air going in or out the case. I guess it's surgery time. Your video is going to be very helpfull! Thanks :)
I just finished doing it with my pavilion dv6 3187la :) But I not only cleaned the fan, I also changed thermal paste on my processor and the video card gpu. Thank you sir. It's my first time rebuilding a laptop.

How did you do it? The GPU changing part.
Yesterday installed a new Core i7 2860qm on this one, besides the disassemble is a little complicated, I found 3 screws stuck, what a pain in the ass, took me like 6 hours!!! THanks for the video really helped!

Awesome video and very instructional. I have one question though, around 16:20 when u took out the fan from the fam cassing: what did you apply to the axel ?
Thank you, would have taken forever without this video.
To those wondering what to lube the cooling fan axel with, you need a high intensity friction oil, like sewing machine oil. Do not use stuff like WD40 etc

I would guess something like silicone grease or lithium grease.
Hello! I'm practicing to become a mime and this helped a lot, also like you I cant speak and do not own a microphone, The music you added helped me understand the tricky parts of this, The only thing I would change is try speeding up the video by X3, i learn faster as the video goes faster.
Mi hermano muchas gracias, mi compu se calentaba mucho... Intente destaparlo, pero no pude, con este video le pude hacer mantenimiento y ya no se calienta... Muchas gracias por el aporte
60° to 78c° is normal for this laptop? I change the thermal paste and clean heatsink but still hot
Hey there What types of screwdriver do you use in your video ?
Thanks for the music choice. It helped keep me focused 😁
IT WAS THAT EASY! THANK YOU

11:56 i'm having troubles right there mate, i find it too hard to unplug, is there a secret technique?
God bless you and your family.
I needed to put more RAM in the HP. I did not need to take the bottom screw off. I used a tough nylon little pry tool while pushing the battery unlocking slide to the left. It let me take the back off to install extra RAM or put in a solid state hard drive.
Great Video ... I have a DV6 6100 LM720AV Hi there. Which SSD do you recommend. I see many models: SSD SATA3 SSD mSata (60mm and 30mm) SSD M.2 (42mm, 60mm and 80mm) I saw that my Wifi Card use a Port for mSata 30mm, or iam confused? I cant see another slot, am I missing something? Again. Which SSD do you recommend.?

Thank you for this video. My sister and I just finished using it ti disassemble and assemble my hp pavilion dv6 laptop.
I'm having trouble removing the battery because the switch for the smartprotect hatch is kind of stuck on one end.😢
This is the best and the most accurate teardown video for the hp pavilion dv6. Please is there a place where screws for this computer are sold?
I have a doubt, where and which is the graphic card? Mine died years ago but just today I realized that It has a Radeon but couldn’t find it
Hey thanks this helped alot. After 40 min, the music is growing on me.

Why not apply new thermal compound under the cpu and gpu heat sinks since you had it apart anyway? Cleaning off the old compound and re-applying a dab of Arctic 4 would do wonders.

Awesome, thanks! Which screwdrivers did you use? Got the HP guide but doesn't specify the sizes
*hey bro just after putting the motherboard ,why did you put a paper(golden colour **19:39** ) on the cooler fans vent just below rhe left side speraker ????Dont you think it will block the air flow??*
Wonder what is the price to do this job in a shop. Anyone have an idea ?
So while in the middel of this i pulled a red wire from the fan thing and it wont go back in should i be worried

Hi there, I'm having trouble trying to figure out what scene size will go where... should've paid more attention when disassembling :( any guide or tips ?
Merci beaucoup pour votre démonstration 🇨🇩🙏🏽
Thanku sooo much.. now my laptop is running smoothly.
excellent music, that's working with rhythm and good video.. Thanks
I got one whith the black screen, i fixit whith a BIOS recovery, but a few data later the black screen was back.
Uhm... I have a question. My laptop is very similar to yours (mine is a 6159sl) and i cleaned it thanks to your video. The question is: where thef**k the air come from??? I mean I always tought that of the two holes of the fan on the exterior, one were the income and one were the outcome but now I saw that the fan has two "exits" to dissipate the heat, and.. Where does it takes the cold air? Is closed upwards and underwards!

The air intake is in the back, under the speaker bar just beneath the "INTERNET" home button.., You'll figure it out once you rip the whole thing down.

Wearing a metal watch bracelet is not very good for your health. The meridians on that hand will be shortcircuited. I had to find that out from an acupuncturist myself, a while back. I also didn't find the music very conducive to having a good experience: it reeks of old times, dusty, facetious town life like in some 20' films and it makes me cringe. Yuk! So I had to turn my sound off. Otherwise, thanks for the video. Liked and subbed.
muchas gracias
THE MUSIC IS ANNOYING! Next, i assume you took this apart because, well it was noisy and the temps where high. There was not enough dust on that fan to warrant opening this thing up to clean. WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE was remove the the old goop from the CPU block and graphics block and reapplied it. Second then you should have cleaned the fan. I doubt that doing just the fan did anything.

Yes, the fan has no much dust but this movie is made for those who do not know how to disassemble the HP Pavilion DV6 Laptop for cleaning dust. About the music I can only say I'm sorry you don't like it ;)

Thanks so much for the teardown!!!! I have a 12 year old dv6 T Quad and it's fan just went verbal on me. Your video made the job so much easier! It only took me five hours And now the beast is as quiet as new. (Almost.., Ha, ha, ha.., )

Takk veldig bra
Me atrevere hacerlo y le pondre pasta termica !! mi laptop no le hago mantenimiento nunca xd del 2012

Thanks a lot! :)
Too much work for nothing. During disassembly should be checked or reapplied the thermoconductive layer between the cooler and CPU and check if there is not any dust in the tubing. Plus the fan was not even dirty to affect anything. I have this computer model since 2012 and since then it was never in the repair nor cleaned. It is not overheating and works just fine. Of course I dont use it for gaming or such stuff.
Thanks man! May Allah bless you and rewards in this life and the afterlife.

True ... since the first day i bought it brand new in 2011 it never stopped overheating even on very light applications use. The cooling fan is most of the time running at full speed and sounds awful. This HP model design was really a big failure. One week ago, i bought a new Lenovo ideapad 520 which is a piece of art compared to my old laptop and is working great. HP should put more effort on designing an efficient heat sink for all their laptops because the overheating was a common issue on all their laptops. I don't know if this is still persistent actually on new HP laptops. Have an idea?

Walid El Hed No idea. I brought this second hand and I'm shocked to see it shooting 100degree on CPU and 90 on GPU. Unacceptable. You can make it work by using a vacum cooler. Cooling pad. Clean out fan. Replace thermal paste. Use in aircon. It's bad

@@PirateKing1256 It's old and if it haven't been cleaned and most importantly the thermal paste haven't been changed it will overheat with ease.
