DISAPPOINTMENT in LOFOTEN | Norway Travel Guide (Ep 5)
Lofoten Islands, Norway - Day two on the Lofoten islands finds us en route to Svolvær for the World Cod Fishing Championship.
Along the way, we stop in the historical fishing village of Nusjford.
Our Lofoten Road Trip continues with a stop in Unstad - the surfing capital of Lofoten and Northern Norway.
In Svolvær, we prepared for the World Cod Fishing Championship to be held that weekend.
We made a quick trip to another beautiful lofoten fishing village of henningsvær.
However, the big dream of competing in the World Cod Fishing Championship in Svolvær never came true as the unpredictable weather of Northern Norway showed itself again.
Unfortunately, we had to leave the Lofoten Islands without fishing, but the beautiful landscapes and friendly people made it all worth it!

I've visited Norway last year and want to go back again. I'm from Canada and this country is beautiful, but I think Norway is more beautiful. I've hiked Trollstigen and Preikestolen Rock when I was there. Also drove through the Atlantic Ocean road. Enjoy Norway!
Your Norway videos have shown a great side of True Norway. Amazing work!

We are visiting family in Norway in June (we are in Norway 2-3 times each year). Your videos have given us some new traveling ideas and we will do a road trip this time; Bergen- Stavanger- Kristiansand- Odda - Bergen. Thank you Gareth & Steve for sharing your journey.
Lofoten is best in the summer. So many people from different places in Norway go there for the summer and a lot of backpackers. My favorite place to be in the world during the summer!

We’re visiting Norway next year for the first time and this series has been so exciting to watch. We keep extending our plans so we can see more and more of the country. We’ll come for the cinnamon buns but will leave the surfing to those 40 years younger. Thanks for this great series....fantastic!

No. Wheel house would be more correct. There is only a bridge on big vessels, but not on small ones (like the small fishing boats). But all boats no matter the size can have a "styrhus".

Steering house is an alternative translation.
Surfing in winter there sure would be interesting and its always the way the day you want to play the rain keeps it away . Now at least you drowned your sorrows with some good Irish medicine and its better to be alive to fish another day then go out in rough conditions. I also had my first opportunity to use an ice crossing over a river. Very unnerving experience but it totally works.
